Rain, Surprise Birthdays, Rain, First Visits -(Ginny is deceased-Prayers for her.)

That is the nice thing about it. You don't have to. I make them. You can wear khaki pants and button down shirt. That is what they call formal night but it really isn't anymore. Especially the 4 and 5 day ones. Just no flip flops in the dining room or shorts at night. Ok during the day. And of course there is always the buffet.

I was worried about having to dress up, too! This is good information to have, Ginny! :thanks:

Well, I haven't heard from the booty shop lady as I called them when I was a young kid. Sheri and I are getting nervous. I'm afraid if she doesn't call I will be finding e a new one my ownself. I have used her for 6 years. At $35 a pop every 4-6 weeks it does add up. I will look for casual dining photos. I love to get people stuffing their faces.

My hair is so long, I need to get it cut. The good thing about that is is that I can put it up, like it is today, in a clippy. Nice and cool, off my neck. In the winter, it starts bothering me b/c it bunches up in the collars of those sweaters and shirts! Uggh. Then I will go and get it all chopped off at once.

I can't wait to see more cruise pics.

I will post some tonight. It has gotten really busy here right now. I'm not liking it one bit. My hair is short so when it gets any length at all I can't do a thing with it.

I know for a fact that John would totally say no to a cruise if he thought he had to dress up. He will wear a button down but hates tucking in his shirt. I hate dressing up too but have learned that in the legal field is a necessary evil.

Don wears those button down squared bottom shirts so they don't need to be tucked. So does Tim but his are the silk ones. He has more money than me.

Hi! Ginny, Mel, & Lisa (if I missed anyone else I'm sorry!)
Ginny, happy to hear about your MIL and sorry to hear about FIL (Danny's dad was doing that but he was not going back to familiar locations; we had to call the police once) Danny's mom would hide the keys; but, if she ran in the house and put hers on the table and went to the restroom off he went(once a neighbor found him urnaiting on her plants--how embarassing!:scared1:). he had gotten to a point when before he was bed ridden that one day she had cooked a pot roast went take a shower when she came back the entire pot was EMPTY! :rotfl: she would buy cold cuts, cheese, anything and if she left him longer than 10/15 min he would eat it ALL!

the stories are funny now but it was really sad and hard to deal with. once my mom & I were on our way to work and his truck was on the side of the highway. when I ran to his truck to see if he was ok--he was peeing on the side of the road (we don't know why he was using the restroom anywhere and everywhere but I guess he wasn't going on himself. he had had several stokes that put him in the state he was in. MIL life is very hard; but, she says it is easier on her mind now.

Lisa & Mel crusies can be whatever you want it to be. If you don't want to dress up just go eat at the buffet or pizza joint. and like Ginny said if it is not dress up night you just have to wear slacks & buttondowns. It is a fun experience everyone should try at least once.:thumbsup2

It is so sad about those Dads we love so much to see these things happening to them and you can't do anything for them. He gets so angry with us when he wants to tell us something. He thinks the words he says are correct and they don't even come out of his mouth. And then we have the little sis wanting to be in charge. She is not on the power of attorney thank goodness. Only Don and sis Donna K (whom I think is the best person in the world, besides Jay). So hopefully things will work out.

I so love a cruise. Come this fall New Orleans is getting a new Carnival ship in and the Fantasy goes to Mobile.

Mom & Dad are booked for December!!! Next year we will probably sneak one in with them. Dad always gets awesome deals!!! they normally go on one in the spring and one in DEC. every years! we need passports first!

That's good that the Fantasy is coming to Mobile, b/c that's probably the one we'll be on next year!

Sorry to hear about the FIL issues. I know that is one of the hardest things to have to watch, when someone you love and have known to be capable suddenly becomes unable to do even the most simple task. It's heartbreaking. I've been there before, and it's a heavy burden to bear, knowing there's really nothing you can do.
My prayers are with you!

we then go back to ee. There was no line. Everyone left in the storm. As a matter of fact ak was all but dead at this point. I decided i was gonna do it. There were 7 of us riding. Mike and don decided to sit this one out. So everyone paired up and left me to my own devices. A kind gentleman said he would be glad to ride with me. Even after i told him i might throw up as i had never done a coaster before. He said it was "ok, my shirt can wash." what a nice guy. I am so close to being a chicken but i stood there long enough i knew i could at least go once.

Omg :scared1: I kept my eyes open the whole way up. What a ride. We got to the top and i heard sheri holler the proverbial oh s---. The man sitting with me says i can see my resort from here. I said which one and he said sarasota springs and i looked over that way and realized how high i was and thought i might stroke out right then and there. Then everyone who know what the ride does you can imagine what i went through. For those of you who don't i will not spoil it.

It was amazing. I wanted to go again but by the time we got off the line was once again long.

.

good job on riding ee!!! That ride kicks ***!!!! Lol

Nov and Dec are my favorite times. I also like Jan, Feb, March, April. Not so much again till Nov. Too hot and hurricane season

It stinks for Don's parents. They have been married 65 years and this is really putting a toll on their lifestyle. They love to go. He can't because of the pain and now that she can drive again, she's ready to go. She is very independent and she will be fine when it does come time. Hope it is that way instead of the other way around. When I lost my dad in 87 it was fast. Talked to him that morning and said I'll see you tomorrow and he was gone that night. Lucky for him. Before he passed he told Mom that Jesus was at the door and he had to answer. That is where she found him. At the front door. He was totally the dad of dads. Just don't ask my sister cause she will disagree.

I promised some more cruise pics so here goes:

This is at Progresso.

We went to the ruins a distance away. They were wonderful. Can't remember the name. But it started with a Dzsomething.

PB230086.jpg

This is awesome. This is how they knew the seasons. At the spring and fall equinox at sunrise the sun would shine through the opening.
I would love to have been there to see that.

PB230074.jpg

We then went to a beach. It was ok. Not the pretty water of Cozumel. A littlel cloudy and a little north. The water was actually chilly. The sun was nice and warm. Not to worry no frightening pics of me in a swimsuit.

PB240111.jpg

We are now at Cozumel. I love it there. Don and I have been several times and spent a week once.

This is Alex, Joel and Austin

PB240135.jpg

Nothing like Joel on a donkey.

PB240138.jpg

We then went to a resort and did a zip line and tower climb. What was neat was it was actually the resort Don and I stayed at several years ago.
PB250141.jpg

No one could believe that Don was the first one up on the highest tower. He didn't even do the little ones.

PB250150.jpg

Austin made it to the top:

Alex on his way:

There goes Sheri and Joel is on the back left side:

Mike coming down. He didn't make it to the top on the tallest one. Tim is on the back left.

PB250165.jpg

Andrew made it.
PB250168.jpg

They then went to a shorter tower to climb then cross a rope bridge to another tower then across a broken wooden bridge to a tower to zip to the tallest tower and come down. Watching them was so funny. Joel who is never afraid to do anything really struggled with the wooden bridge. Austin who sometimes doesn't like to try new things ran across the bridges. He had a blast. Everyone did this part. Except me who did nothing but take pictures. I am so afraid of heights and I really thought I could do at least something. But once I got the harness on I knew I could go no further.

Don on the rope bridge.

After that was over we went snorkeling. When Don and I stayed their we would get up every morning and snorkel for an hour then head to the buffet for breakfast. The water is beautiful. You see fish, coral, eels and little baracuda.

Continued

It was from Sunday before Thanksgiving. We returned to Mobile Thanksgiving day. Spent the day together then headed home. Perfect time to go. Cheap then and the first week in December.

Yeah! we went the first week of Dec in 01. mom and dad always go the first or second week of Dec.
Have a good night!

I know, I've been MIA. Will had practice tonight. It's always hard to get on when they have practice (which is currently Monday, Friday, and Sunday but Will's team is trying to add another).

The cruise pictures are so cool! I really want to go sometime...of course there is a lot of stuff I want to do!

I'm sorry about your FIL. That sounds like some of the stuff my grandfather did before he died. He had Altzheimers and I do remember one story my dad likes to tell about him "peeing in the corner". It scares me a bit because Altzheimers is supposed to be hereditary and my dad looks SO much like my grampa. He died two weeks after Will was born (on my anniversary-I was super, super sick that night too-some infection I got right after I had Will). We have a couple of pictures of Will with him, but I don't think he ever knew Will. He does now though. :) I wonder if he knows Matt's dad?

I'll be back tomorrow. Hope you have a good night!

You know he knows Christian too. I feel that way about my dad. My girls were in high school when we lost him. I know he looks over everyone of those kids and grandkids of mine.

Don's dad had Alzheimers also but it's the bone cancer and prostate cancer that is doing him in. Such sad diseases.

I have missed you. I checked out the facebook page. Good for you today. You are really doing well.

I must get to bed. Another long day tomorrow and it is my late day too.

Hey Ginny. Sorry I haven't been by in a while :guilty:. I love the new pictures, I swear I envy brave people. I am such a big ole baby about heights, my knees got weak just looking at that rock wall :scared1:. I hope my whole family will take vacations together. It looks like ya'll have so much fun.

I am sorry to hear about Don's dad. I will keep him in my prayers. I am praying for all of us to have some stress relief. When I read what you wrote about your Dad it gave me chills, it is such a testimony to your Dad's life that he knew Jesus was waiting on him at the door.

I have missed talking to you and to everybody else too!!!
