Rain, Rain

Hi,
I am planning A Disney Wedding for September. I hear that practically every afternoon there is a thunderstorm that comes through but only last a short period of time. From experience of all you disney brides who may have been there in September, what part of the afternoon does this happen. ( I had a friend in college that went to FSU and he said that everyday at 4:00 it rained, you could set your clock by it). That made me want to do the ceremony at 1:00pm, but we can't be seated at our dinner party afterwards till 4:30. (what will we do in the meantime)Ideally I would like to choose 3:00 for the ceremony, but I don't want to get caught in the rain. Besides changing to a location indoors, does anyone have any suggestions?

As a "local" and also a recent bride - I will try and answer your questions. It is very common to have rain every afternoon in the summer. A few years back it was every day at 5:00- the time I left to drive home from work. Unfortunately, there have also been summers when it rains at 1:00 or 2:00 or 3:00.... you get the idea. I don't want to worry you even more but you do realize that is prime hurricane season time also. The only thing you can do is plan the wedding and hope for the best! And as people told me 9 months ago at my wedding- rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck!

I just got married on Sept 29, 2003 I will fill you in on some rain details............when we arrived in Florida all I could think about was the weather and if it would rain or be like 100 degrees on my wedding day as I was going to wear a long sleeve dress (see picture below) I spent all my spare time watching the Weather Channel and if anyone would have asked me I could have told them the average temp in florida, and what the weather was going to be like for the next week Now what I found out was that NOTHING can predict the weather which made me sorely dissapointed. Every single day we in Florida the weather pretty much did the opposite of what the forecasters said...........except our wedding day..........I woke up early and just sat in front of the tv watching the clouds and rain roll into the area. They called for rain all day (90%) and cloudy. Well it didn't rain a drop all day but it was very cloudy so there was no sun. I just kept watching the rain diminish on the radar as it got closer to Orlando..........thinking it would rain my Dessert Party out. Any time of year you go, or whatever time of day you have it there will always be a chance of rain in Florida. My hair and makeup people were trying to calm me by saying a marriage is blessed if it rains on your wedding day..........I say screw that, it didn't make me feel any better ha ha ha ha

When in September are you getting married? Where? 2004? We are getting married on the 18th, ceremony at 2:30 in the WP.

I feel your pain about the weather. I am trying not to think about it. If it rains, we will deal. Our cocktail hour and desert party are both outdoors at Italy Isola. I am going to hope and pray that we miss the rain...or that it doesn't at all!

And if one more person tells me it is hurricane season it is all over, they better run for the hills!

That's funny jennycee, when we first booked our wedding, our wedding coordinator said "Now you know it's hurricane season right"............I was sick to death of hearing about the hurricanes, it just made me more nervous, I was like a weather channel junkie!!!! There was a tropical storm last year that went flying over Mexico just a week before our wedding and when I came to work everyone would just freak out on me, they would give me updates on what they had heard the night before!!! I finally told them they were not helping the pre-wedding worries!!!!
