Oh my heavens-I have just checked the weather-we are leaving Monday for a week at WDW and it is going to rain all week- I know there is nothing that I can do about it but it will be my children's (8,10,12) first trip to Disney!! I am so upset - what will we do if it rains??? Just need encouragement for my disappointment!

pixiedust: Lots of pixie dust to you and your family. I just know it will turn out sunny for most of your stay.

Forecasts aren't always 100% accurate. Here's hoping they are wrong! :wizard: :woohoo: pixiedust:

Its been pretty bad weather here lately.

On a positive note though, most rain here is in spurts. It will rain hard for awhile, then stop.

So if you are in a park, find shelter and wait it out , it will stop fairly quickly in my experience.

Put on your ponchos and walk on to every ride (if they are operating). You will never find shorter lines than during a light rain shower. DON"T LET IT SPOIL THE FUN!

This could work to your advantage. Take panchos with you and put them on. The rides won't have any wait time. Take in a movie or go to downtown Disney. Ride the water rides. Walk through epcot. The families with smaller children tend to go back to their rooms for the rain storm but almost everything is still operational so enjoy. Make it an adventure. Enjoy

Rain all week, huh? Not to worry. Before we left for Disney, the weather forecast said sunshine all week. Well, needless to say, we had some showers every day. It didn't ruin it for us though. Thank goodness, it didn't last long each time it rained.

Here's sending some pixie dust your way for a wonderful trip.pixiedust:

Kids are not nearly as worried about that stuff as we adults are. Just put on a smile and have a blast!

Everytime I go to WDW, litterally every time, I check the forecast and it says rain most of the week. Well not once has it rained(and I go every year). Man, I may have just jinxed my next trip!

well, it's raining here too, when you go i'll be thinking of you.

am sure you're enjoy it anyway, and anyway, don't always trust the weather forcast

I thought it rained everyday in Florida....it does EVERY time we go to WDW.;)

We bring ponchos and just enjoy what we can. If it is raining heavy, we find something inside to do (shop, eat, Carousel of Progress). It doesn't usually last long.

Have fun!!

Use the poncho's and enjoy your vacation.

We had a couple wonderful days before the rain came in last week. We bought Mickey ponchos and kept going. On Christmas Day we doned our ponchos and set out for Downtown Disney - it was great. On 12/26 we went to the MK and rode Splash Mountain (numerous times - walk on) wearing our ponchos.....sometimes the rain turns into a great benefit.

Although the weather was okay the day we went to the AK, we also wore ponchos on Kali River Rapids.....it saved us from being totally soaked and we were able to enjoy the rest of the day semi-dry.

One night it rained for about 10 to 20 minutes at the MK and then stopped -- the next day we ran into people who had been at MGM and it rained there the entire night....you can NEVER figure out Florida weather!:happytv:
