so I'll be flying to WDW for the first time in 5 years on Saturday! This trip was a surprise christmas present from my bf. <3 counting down the days, watching the weather praying for the best but so far we are getting a lot of rain, of course!
So im wondering what attractions stay open? As you all know by now you have to make your fast pass selections way before your trip even begins. We have them for things such as BTMRR, 7DMT, EE, and even have a Fantasmic dinner set up. Will we be "wasting" our fast passes? Or will the attractions still be open?

Another quick question sorry didn't want to make a whole new thread...what do you do with Magic bands at the airport? Are they safe to go through the security? I don't want to get there and have it not work.
Ps- why are they so uncomfortable????

Most things still operate in the rain. Lightning within a certain radius will shut a handful of things down. That said--still too early to pay much attention to the forecast. Be prepared, but don't assume the forecast is correct.

MBs are no issue with airport security.

Yes, most things will operate! We even went on the Astro orbiter in the rain...as long as there is no lightening. On one of our trips we saw mostly rain in the forecast and we ended up with very little rain and beautiful weather so do not give up hope.

Good to know the attractions will still be running. I'm hoping my trip ends up like yours with very little rain. As of now it shows one day of sun and rain the rest of the week. Not giving up hope just yet

I went to Universal last weekend on sort of a last-minute trip. Saturday and Sunday were forecast to be rainy a few days before. They got Saturday right, it was a wet day but we survived. Sunday's forecast, as late as Saturday night, was passing thunderstorms by late morning for the rest of the day--but Mother Nature decided it would be beautiful instead. Moral of the story--weather forecasts are educated guesses at best.

The MagicBands will be fine through airport security. It's really just a plastic band with a RFID chip in it. Library books these days have RFID chips in them.

You don't have to wear the Band if you find it uncomfortable. I just tuck mine into my pocket or my bag and take it out when I need it. I have never worn mine on my wrist.

Yeah I'm trying not to worry about it and just pack accordingly. Glad you had a good time on your trip

We have worn our MBs a few times on the plane/through security with no issues at all. Sorry I can't help with the comfort issue. I personally have never found them to be uncomfortable, but maybe that's because I know I'm going to WDW!

Have a great trip!

My wrist is very tiny lol I feel like a child. So I have to wrap it around my wrist to make it fit. My bf says there's a way to make them smaller though....

Thanks for the info. I'm just worried if I did that it might be too small. Idk what to do

If it slips off your wrist on the tightest setting before removing the removable portion, than remove the removable portion. ;)

First I cut the gray portion of my band to make it smaller. I left 2 holes on the gray part. That made it a lot better and more comfortable. I had a second band (kind of a split stay) and removed the gray backing for that one. Also comfortable and actually larger than the other one because removing the gray portion made it a bit larger. You could start by cutting excess length off of th gray part without removing it entirely.

It doesnt slip off but it fits better if that makes sense. My bf thinks if I remove the gray portion it won't be as uncomfortable

That's actually a really good idea. Thanks for the advice

I've been looking at the 10 Day on Weather.com, and I don't think it looks as bad as you're thinking. In Central Florida, 50% rain usually is hit or miss, not an all day rain (though it could be). Our local Fox affiliate has the chances even lower on the 7 day. The local stations tend to be more accurate than the weather channel.

have a great time!
