I was looking at the weather and it says next Thursday SHOWERS!!!! Now how will this effect our trip?? We go every year and have never had rain!! I have 2 kids in strollers!!! It is only 1 day, but I am worried..does anything change in Disney for rain??

We brought a stroller rain cover and ponchos and marched on for 3 days of rain in WDW one year. Had a blast! When the sun came out, we wished for rain! lol

Your shoes will get wet, take extra pairs.

We've been to DL and DW with both the rain and the sun. For us, it doesn't dampen the excitement! We feel that the rain actually scares some of the crowd away from the rides.

I wish you a happy trip!

If you're at Disneyland on a rainy day I think you'll find that the park is very UNcrowded - because most of us So Cal locals think we'll melt in the rain, and we stay home. :-) The Tea Cups and Alice in Wonderland and Tom Sawyer Island don't operate on rainy days, but most everything else should be up and running. There will be fewer characters out and about, but there will be still areas undercover for Meet and Greets.

If the chance of rain is 50% or under, it probably won't happen, or if it does, it will be very little. We went one day just this last December and it was predicted at 70% chance of rain. It sprinkled while we ate dinner then was over.

Southern Cali rain is never much to write home about...

Ok I looked at weather.com, under Anaheim and got the rainy day.. We are in N.Cali and it has been pouring up here(few weeks ago) ..we would love some warm sunny S.CA weather!! I will bring xtra shoes for everyone! Years ago in WDW in was cold and rainy..but it was only one day and no kids... thank you for all your advice!!!

It hasn't rained all week! LOL I don't know about you but I've been loving the weather! (I'm in Suisun) :) I think you'll be OK, if not just get a couple ponchos and deal with it. Make sure you have extra shoes and extra sweatshirts but otherwise you'll be fine. My last 2 trips were rainy ones and it didn't affect our enjoyment at all. Have fun!!

My best memories of Disneyland as a child are when it's raining, the park is dead quiet we went on splash 8 times in a row no line attempting to get the perfect picture!

We went on November 30th last year when the forecast called for mild sprinkles during the middle of the day. IT DUMPED RAIN!!! We finally got a reprieve from the rain around 2:30 and then only sprinkling from then on, but we were not prepared for that amount of rain.

After the initial soaked to the bone feeling passed, we had a great time. We walked onto every ride. Indoor restaurants were jammed though so try to make reservations now and cancel that morning if you don't need them.

To the OP. Make sure you bring umbrellas, rain coats, extra socks and shoes and an extra change of clothes (2 for the kids). We used the cheapo rain coats from WalMart which were good enough. Also, bring a hat as the rain falling on your face will get annoying really fast.

The ToonTown characters were all in Mickey Mouse's which was a nice surprise. Got Dream Fastpasses on the way out which were useless as we were practically the only people in the park.

We were there on November 30th last year too. Ponchos were useless in that downpour. We saw these people wearing rain pants/jackets over there clothes and I was jealous. When we got home, I bought rainsuits just like theirs for use on future trips...haha. I'd rather be safe than sorry. A little rain is fine, but when it's pouring and your clothes and shoes are soaked it's miserable.

I've only been at disneyland in a pouring rain twice, I think though. So I don't think it happens too often.

We've been in pouring rain at DLR twice. Both times I was wearing Crocs with no socks, and it was lovely. No soaking shoes if you're wearing sandals! :) Though you have to step a bit more carefully, as it can be slippery.

Actually, the first time, I was wearing a sundress, too, so there were no pants to get wet. Now if only I'd had a poncho that day. :goodvibes

DLR in the rain is fine. But don't go on CA Screamin'. I've been told it doesn't close in the rain, and people have reported that the rain feels like needles pelting your face on "take-off". ouch.

I looked last week and rain was predicted for Saturday, this weekend when I'm going. The next day it was only partial clouds and the day after it was sunny skies! :-) I wouldn't worry about the rain too much even if you do get it, but keep checking the weather, because I wouldn't be surprised if it changes!!

I don't know. We had a good time on Screamin' in the rain...haha....
photo proof.... :thumbsup2 (we're the ones in front)

The first thing I thought when I saw your post was LUCKY! Rain at disney is great in my opinion. You will have very small wait times on the rides, especially the wet rides (go figure). You can still have a great time, don't worry about it.
