Rain predicted for 6/15 Wonder cruise

Thunderstorms are predicted every day of my cruise. I am close to tears. I know the ship goes to different ports when hurricanes are closing in, but what about thunderstorms? Is there any hope of salvaging this vacation?

Don't fret. Down south here, when there is rain, it usually doesn't last that long. So even if it rains, it won't be all day. YOu'll still get plenty of sunshine!

There was rain predicted for everyday of our cruise too. We had a nice shower before we even got off at St. Martin, and a little rain the morning at Castaway Cay. We saw the most beautiful rainbow at St. Martin. Both times, it cleared out quickly & left us with a great day. Just keep thinking sunny thoughts!

Definitely do NOT fret, it rains in the Caribbean and the Bahamas pretty much EVERY day this time of year. Showers are usually brief and they blow off. I've been caught in rain a few times on different cruises and it was not a big deal at all; it rains, the sun comes out, life goes on.

While touring Cozumel on ATVs, our tour got caught in a DOWNPOUR. It was like a host of angels did "cannonballs" in a river directly above us. On top of this, there was no shelter we could duck into. Only a nearby Mayan ruin which offered no roof to shield anyone from the rain. My son and I laughed as we imitated taking a shower in the Mexican rain. It didn't last very long at all. The sun reappeared and everyone in the group was dry within an hour - even our underwear (thank goodness)...

Also why listen to the predictions of meteorologists? For a couple of dollars you can have your palm read in Brooklyn by a mystic, heck, there's one on practically every block. AND, some even serve wine. Not bad for a useless weather report...

An old saying about Florida's weather - if you don't like it - wait a few minutes - it will change - I myself kinda like the moments of rain - coming back from Merritt Island Monday - we ran into moments of hard rain - rode less than a mile - and there was the sunshine again - so just enjoy life sweetie even if there is some rain - it will be fine - you will have awesome memories for when you are sitting back in a rocking chair and remembering all the whens -

Every day we pulled in to port, they told us passing showers were likely... "and they're just that... a passing shower". The only time we encountered rain was in St. Thomas and that was at the end of the day.

We left Castaway Cay 45 minutes late to let a squall pass - then the Captain boogied out to sea in big waves and manuevered to a beuatiful clear spot for our day at sea. It was gorgeous. At MCO while waiting for our plane the lady next to me couldn't stop griping about how terrible the rain was and how it had ruined their cruise. She was on the Norwegian ship docked next to us in Nassau and they didn't escape the squall for two days and half the passengers were seasick, while we basked in the Carribean sun! That Mickey sure does know how to navigate a ship!

How was your ATV experience Buck? My teen son wants to try them....did you ride them at Mr Sanchos?

Your son will love Wild Tours ATV adventure. I'm sure you will too. Anyone wishing to drive their own ATV must be at least 16-years old. If younger, they can either passenger with a parent or ride with one of the guides in a jeep. The jeep accompanies the ATVs to assist in any emergency repair which might prove necessary. I'm not a connoisseur of ATVs by any stretch, but they all appeared to be well-maintained. At least, no one broke down in our group and I wouldn't say we were exactly "gentle."

I don't know where Mr. Sanchos beach is located. "Sanchos" might be the Mexican equivalent of "Jones" or "Smith" here in the States. Well, I guess it could also be the equivalent of "tezb." The beach area where we ATVed was on the other side of the island relative to the ship.

If you decide to do this non-Disney shore excursion, you'll have a blast. My son said it was the second-best excursion we took. I thought it merited a number 1 status. To "Buckaroo," however, horseback riding along the beach in Grand Cayman was an experience bordering on a "religious awakening"... lol.
