rain my entire stay?? what to do!!

I would get disposable ponchos(and lots of them) so you can toss them when the rain blows over. It rained a lot during our June trip, but it was no big deal and didn't ruin our trip at all. I would be disappointed seeing that forecast too OP, but it will still be a great trip!!
Long range forecasts are so unreliable I wouldn't worry about it. Actually I would worry then it would turn out fine!

It has probably rained at least some on every one of our trips. I think there was 1 trip where it wasn't even bad enough to buy ponchos, but it did rain nonetheless. It is funny that when we picture our perfect trip, no one pictures rain, but the reality is .... it rains! I've got tons of photos of old trips with us in ponchos and the memories are no less fond. I totally agree with the poster who pointed out that it could be worse. On one trip, it was windy and stormy on our first day. I tolerated it, knowing that sunny days were ahead. Well, it turned out they were BLAZING HOT .... in October! Looking back, that first day was the BEST weather of the trip.

You cannot control the weather, but as others have said, you can be prepared. I am actually a huge fan of the Disney ponchos. If it's threatening rain at the start of the day, grab a couple of ponchos from the store at the front of the park (where they rent strollers). They're pricey, but cute (as cute as a utilitarian poncho can be), and really effective - much more so than the econo variety. If a thunderstorm pops up, look for them at other shops. CMs pull them out and put them front and center when it rains.

Do a little research so you have ideas of some rain activities. For instance, when it rained in MK on our last trip, we headed straight for Mickey's Philharmagic. Concentrate on controlling the bits you can control and try to let go of what you can't.

Good luck!

You're way over obsessing on this. Relax.

First, I'm looking at accuweather right now. Most days starting next Saturday look like "spotty showers", at worst. It is not going to start raining when you get there and rain for seven straight days continuously.

I've gone for a long weekend or week in March for about 7 or 8 years straight now and I can't remember even a single day that has been a complete washout. Yes, showers have popped up, especially mid to late afternoon. When they do, it rains hard...but usually doesn't last long. Only one or two times do I remember anything extended.

It is a good idea to be prepared for some rain... I usually just look at the forecast in the morning and see what chances of rain there are that day and bring along a raincoat, if necessary. That close up, you'll even get a good idea of when showers are likely to occur and if you have a smartphone, you can really keep a good eye on it.

On our first trip in 2007, we had a forecast like yours. I got stressed out. That ended up being the trip that we never got one drop of rain in 8 days! Don't sweat the forecast.

I have to say, I got engaged at the end of August in front of the castle. The whole day had beautiful weather, we went for dinner at Kona, came back to the Magic Kingdom and it was DOWNPOURING. My fiance decided the pouring rain was a great time to propose instead of the beautiful weather we had all morning (and the rest of the week) and I have to say, it was perfect. It just adds to the memory and the story. So don't sweat if it is raining- honestly that's one of the few things I remember from the moment. It doesn't have to be "perfect" - the thought of spending your lives together should be enough :)

Personally, I hate ponchos- so I would recommend rain gear like Frog Toggs. Pants and jackets that are lightweight so you don't sweat under them, but keep you completely dry. I also love how the pants have slits in them so I can reach my regular pockets, and zippers on the legs so I can easily put them on over my shoes.

This gave me some hope. Thank you :) and congrats

It's still entirely too early to stress about the forecast. They really can only forecast with some certainty 24-48 hrs ahead and I bet the forecast will change 10 or more times by then. Pack the ponchos/rain gear so you are prepped for whatever comes but don't stress.

Even a 40% chance of rain at Disney World is a much different thing than where I live. The showers at the World seem to come and go quickly - full days of rain aren't overly common there. But - either way - just go and have a great time! :flower3:

There has been more rain than usual in Florida this winter season, but honestly, even if it says thunderstorms every single day I would not expect that to actually happen in one given space (like Disney World.) It may rain in downtown Orlando, or Ocala or some other place nearby and not rain a drop in Magic Kingdom. Or it may rain hard for 10 minutes and be sunny before and after. It would actually be very unusual at this time of year to really have thunderstorms every single day...that's more like hurricane season and that is several months away.

Bring ponchos, and enjoy yourselves. Even if it does rain a lot, remember that so many attractions are inside so it's just getting from one to the next that will be wet. Some of our best vacations have been in the rain at WDW.

If OP keeps stressing out over long range weather forecasts, there's no way the trip will be PERFECT. You're setting yourself up for disaster.

Chill. Go with the flow and whatever happens, happens. It will all work out.

By the way, the trip won't be PERFECT even with sunny weather in the 70s all week. Something won't go according to the plan. Count on it. Be realistic and don't set expectations so high or there's sure to be disappointment.

All you can do is get ponchos or umbrellas, and go for it. Unfortunately Disney hasn't figured out how to control the weather yet. Sometimes when it starts raining a lot of guests flee the parks. Plan to stay.

Also be aware that when Florida forecasters say showers or scattered thunderstorms, it can be raining at Epcot but perfectly dry at MK.

p. s. NO trip is "perfect."

Clearly nothing in life is perfect. But is it wrong for me to want this proposal to go as perfectly as it can for my gf? This trip isn't about me at all. I planned it all around her. Going to her favorite restruants, even trying be our guest since she loves princesses. I made sure to get as many fast passes as I could for her favorite rides. So really it's just me trying to make sure she has the time of her life :) she keeps saying she wants to hang out by the pool one day. Hoping we can do that. Thanks for all your feedback on the situation

disboardslurker, good luck on your trip. You will have a grand time, I'm sure!

just a heads-up...Be Our Guest is not a princess meal. At dinner times, the Beast does a "walk-through" and then has a
short reception times in a side room for people to get pictures...but no princesses are present in Be Our Guest. No characters at all for lunch time...though it is still a beautiful place for a meal, with or without characters. If you actually want a princess meal, you can try Citricos Princess breakfast in the Grand Floridian, or Akershus Restaurant in Epcot for breakfast lunch or dinner (multiple princesses at Akershus). Also 1900 Park Fare buffet for dinner time in Grand Floridian has Cinderella & her Prince as well as stepsisters and stepmom (breakfast at 1900 Park Fare had different characters like Alice & Madhatter and Mary Poppins.)

We were there it rained every pool day. Our Epcot day it rained all day! We had some of the BEST character meet and greets that day!

At 8:00 it was still pouring and the CMs told me not to count on fireworks. At 8:30 the sky cleared and the fireworks happened just as planned.

Don't give up hope! Buy ponchos! They replace them for free! We needed replacements we all have big hair!

We rode so many rides in the rain one night at MK! Pouring! It was great!

Someone got a proposal in front of the castle....they said yes!
