rain my entire stay?? what to do!!

Just because it shows rain every day doesn't mean rain ALL day, every day! Of course there can be days where it rains all day but I can't imagine this happening for like four days in a row. Plus, thunderstorms by nature come and go, this is part of a day at Disney for us! Those all day rains are not storms! I know what it is like to have rain spoil a vacation though; I had a weekend at Cedar Point (Ohio amusement park) scheduled and it did rain all day Saturday and Sunday. I was mad and grouchy and really just couldn't get over it the entire weekend. Now I realize I really should have enjoyed the time with my family and gotten over it! So...there are things to do in the rain at Disney for sure. Epcot has quite a few indoor attractions. They will open as many rides that they can, safely. Have a great time, the Disney magic works rain or shine. We actually purposely GO to Animal Kingdom if it starts storming...so many people leave and then we get to ride Everest over and over :)

I have been planning this trip for years! on this trip I was finally going to ask my bf to marry me. I had it all planned out, then i looked at the weather forecast and it is supposed to be rainy and have thunderstorms our entire stay. (huge bummer) has anyone gone this time of year before? I chose this time of year because when i did some research it said this is typically the "dryer" season. so much for that lol are the rain storms during this time of year long? or are they relatively short?
I went through this last year when we went to Universal the second week of March. I started checking the weather the week before for the week we would be there and it showed rain every day and I drove myself crazy. Every day I checked and it changed daily. We ended up having a beautiful week with rain on one day for about 2 hours!

thank you everyone. i feel a little better now. i just want this trip to be PERFECT

As I said, you can't control the weather. You'll make the perfect vacation with or without the weather's help. Being yourself through it all is what'll make it perfect, and him saying yes too... lol.

I have Disney World, fl forecast on my phone and it say,

sat 77 40% chance of afternoon showers
sun 77 30% chance of afternoon showers
mon 80 60% change of afternoon thunder storms and showers
tue 77 60% chance of showers

so far Tuesday is the only day its going to rain.

Not to make light of your disappoint over rain, but its fla and afternoon showers are a normal weather forecast, which means it might do anything from sprinkle or downpour in afternoon for hour or two.

If it downpours for more then an hour your lucky the parks with be half emptied for a while. Throw on some rain ponchos and flip flops and run to rides. Play singing in the rain.as you skip in an half empty park.

The second time I took my husband to disney it pour for more then half the day after the first 30 mins he wanted to leave with everyone else. I told him no, handed him poncho told him to wait it out and let everyone leave. That day we didnt need any fp- we walked on to all the rides as many times as we wanted sure we soaked, but we where loling and flinging water from puddles at each other. It was a great day.

Darn how I wish Disney would build a real bubble.

We had rain almost everyday last year and still had a wonderful trip. The only day it really ruined was animal kingdom day, it was a monsoon all day, we made it on the safari 1st thing then the rain just got worse an worse. Still had so great trip. MK day was pretty, rained on and off all day for HS and a Epcot. So 3 out of 4 days were rain and it was still AMAZING memories. Just to with the flow.

Woman want more then any thing a man that is willing to try to make it perfect, then perfection.

If its really going to rain on your parade of asking do in near BBB in the middle of the castle.

I'm sure whatever you come up with will work for her. Why? It's coming from you!

Why the castle? It doesn't always have to be it...

To the OP, pick the park, ride, area she loves the most and make the most of it. It need not be the castle. If she's into the West, do it by Big Thunder, if she's nuts for the Haunted Mansion, ask her to be undead with you forever and get a CM involved. The castle need not be the only place that it be done. That said, if you have an idea, call ahead and see if you can cook up a little something extra, you never know what Disney might do for you...

And when there's a yes... go get your Just Engaged Buttons!!!!!!

i have called disney before and they were telling me about flower packages and such. they were nice but pricy. i feel they are not necessary. thanks for all the advice. i think im starting to get nervous and this rain issue isn't helping lol

About 3 years ago, we went to WDW for a 4-night trip and it started raining about 4 hours after we arrived - and it didn't stop for 72 hours! Hello, Tropical Storm Debbie! We bought ponchos, put a rain cover on DS's stroller and off we went! We go to WDW about 5 times a year and that type of rain was a complete anomaly. As other PP's have mentioned, these forecasts change daily and typically, showers don't last that long. Chances are, it may rain a little while you are there. It's FL. It rains. I wouldn't let it spoil your trip.

Because I love the castle, and it was the first dry non rainy cool place that popped in my head.

If she is crazy for mickey and mini do it at the meet and great tent in front of mickey and mini. Get on one knee and face mini hold her hand. spin to GF pull ring box out and go for it.

there is that a better one. :love1:

5 times a year sounds amazing. we havent been there in years which is another reason why this trip is so important.

Let's assume that the worst of the worst forecast comes true and it rains buckets every day. What is the worst thing that can happen when it rains....
  • You get wet.
  • A couple of rides close due to inclement weather.
Are either of these things enough to make you worry about your trip? Ever been wet before? Ever go when a ride was closed? You aren't going to experience anything that you haven't experienced before. Worrying about weather conditions that might cancel a flight or make driving dangerous makes sense. Worrying about the weather once you arrive is really over-stressing. Relax. Rain gear. Hats. Change of close. Long stretches in Epcot pavilions discovering things that you used to zip right past. Extra time in lounges having cocktails. It's all good.

Well, Mickey and Minnie don't meet together anymore in the MK as far as I know.
