With a reservation, must we still wait in line at the "Elephant", or can we bypass & go directly to the podium when seating is given?

You still have to check in at the podium and it can turn into a madhouse there at dinner hours and sometimes you can't even make it to the podium. Even with an ADR there 2 summers ago we waited over an hour and a half to be seated...

As the PP said, you still have to check-in at the Elephant. The seating queue (inside the restaurant) is for when your table is ready. An ADR means you'll be next in line for a table for your party size (behind the other ADR folks that checked in before you), but it's not a reservation in the traditional sense (where the restaurant holds a table for you so it'll be empty when your reservation time rolls around). So even with an ADR, there is still the potential for a long wait after you've checked in...it all depends on how many guests are ahead of you in the queue.

Thanks, but groan! :headache:

We're reserved for 2pm on Thur, 2/13/2014. Here's for the line being short on that day/time. pixiedust:

Apply for the Landry's card. They are supposed to give you priority seating so that may help time wise. It has been useful for us in the past. Also they give you $25 the month of your birthday!

My guess is that on a Thursday in the middle of the afternoon, you probably won't have to wait that long. I don't think it'll be check-in and be immediately seated, but I doubt you'll wait a really long time. The biggest back-ups tend to occur at prime dining times (e.g., noon, 6:00 pm, etc.), on weekends, and during the busy seasons.

Thanks for the extra info. We do have a RainForest card (got before Laundry's purchased RFC & they switched us over for free - yeah!) Love those BD coupons!
