Does the ship still pull into castaway cay if it is raining?

Yes, as long as the sea state (waves & wind) isn't too bad.

Once the lightening kicks in they close the beach and encourage everyone to return to the ship. This can happen in the summer especially if hurricannes or tropical storms are in the general area.

It rained our first trip to Castaway Cay but we had a good time anyway. When we got down to Deck 1 to get off the ship they were giving out complimentary rain ponchos (you know the bright yellow mickey ones) and so we decided to brave it and get off. The rain would come and go throughout the day and so it was a little cool and the water felt very cool. We were there in November. It actually kind of altered our perception of Castaway Cay UNTIL we went there 3 weeks ago in SUNSHINE! NOW I get why people love it so much! When it is sunny and warm and you can sit in the ocean on a beach chair and play with the kids and get drinks delivered to you....aaahhhh paradise found! I actually have pictures of us that day at CC in our rain ponchos with the ground riddled with puddles and I laugh everytime I see it.
