Rain all next week?

Spent 6 days at the GF in early Feb...followed the forecast every day for the 2 weeks prior to my arrival. The only forecast I didn't see was heavy snow..even two days b 4 my arrival the forecast was for 6 days of sun and temps in the high 70's.

What I got was 1 day of sun and 5 days of rain, overcast and 50's.

In all of my trips to WDW, I have yet to see an accurate forecast from the national weather services...maybe I need to tap into the local Orlando weather reports.

Good luck....

Me too. Went from near 90s and sun, to 70s and rain for the whole week. Fingers crossed.

I have two friends taking their families on first trips next week for our spring break and they are freaking out.

I told them to wear a poncho and a smile, lol...and to not get stuck on the monorail in a pop up storm like I did in 2001.

I hope everyone who has a trip planned for next week escapes bad weather and has an awesome time!!

The forecast looks like typical Florida spring to me.

Have ponchos ready, and if you wear socks - bring an extra set of them too. Rain won't stop you from having a great time.

We're coming into the rainy season in FL so its not unusual at all to see rain in the forecast every day until the fall. Typically its a mid-day thunderstorm. Just remember that weather forecasting in central Florida is no more accurate than it is in your home state.

^^^ This. Rain forecast does not mean all day. It shows up on the forecast if there is a chance of even a short shower at some point during the day. We had rain forecast most days for our first 3 trips and didn't see a drop on any of those visits.

It is also possible to be at one park and have a downpour and not get rained on at another. It's crazy weather but it's normal.

Have a great trip :)

It's possible to be on one side of one park and have a downpour and not get rained on on the other side, let alone different parks. :)

It's rained in World Showcase but not Future World before.

We arrive in 48 hours, woke up to ANOTHER 5 inches of snow this am and -9C
I'll take the rain!!!

For all those heading to WDW next week, I hope the rain is just some small showers and not all day for the week. It stinks to go on vacation and have the weather not cooperate. As others have said, it is possible that the forecast calls for rain, but it's not all day. In any event, I hoe you have a good time.

We actually were there for tropical storm Beryl a couple years ago. It certainly made some good memories.

Next week is my week, too. I hope it's just mid day pop up rain and is quickly over. I ordered the kids raincoats and we have ponchos ready. A lot of people leave if it's raining, so maybe it will cut down on crowds? One time at a Zoo we were going to it rained in the morning, we hung out in the gift shop and indoor exhibits for awhile, then all afternoon it was sunshine and very, very low crowds, so it was like having the park to ourselves. :)

Perfect example of FL weather was yesterday Chilly rain and then came the tornado watch for several central FL counties ( including Orange and Osceola that covers WDW ) poured rain most of the night and then today absolutely GORGEOUS would never know anything happened

Glad it happened BETTER not happen tomorrow I've got a NY Yankees game to go to :thumbsup2 see even us locals can stress over weather occasionally

Oh I believe it! A few years ago we came back to the resort for a swim and arrived at the same time as a bus pulled up from MK carrying soaked guests commenting on the sudden torrential downpour. We'd been at Epcot and left because we'd had enough sun and wanted to use the pool!

I've been monitoring the weather since it was close enough to be included in the forecast. I have to say I am worried. This is my DD (age 7) and my DS (age 9) first trip to WDW and I would hate for it to be raining the whole time!

My concern...do any rides close down in the rain or do they only close if there is a thunderstorm? I think they will be fine with a shower or two, but if stuff shuts down, that's when I am going to have a problem on my hands.

I would love rain over the 10 inches I had to shovel out of our driveway yesterday.

That said, it is impossible to forecast with any accuracy more than a couple days out and even that is difficult. That is the computer's best guess. I also look at it, knowing this, and watch it change on a daily basis as more and more information comes in. I fret, I stew and I worry, but in the end it is what it is and I pack for every eventuality (spare shoes and ponchos).

We have had rain forecast every trip to WDW. I was sprinkled on one night out of all the trips we have gone.

Local forecasts are somewhat better, since these are people who live there and have experience with what can happen. But they don't do more than forecase about 5 days out, and again, past a day or two it is all based on computer models.

My DS loved weather, and loved snow days. One year, we had a lot of snow and he proved better than any weatherman predicting when and how much it would snow. His teacher said she trusted him more than what she saw on TV. Then he started thinking about it and looking at the models, and stopped trusting his gut feeling - never the same after that. So I figure sometimes the more you know, the harder it is to predict. Which is why I prepare for everything.

I was there three weeks ago and had been following the weather forecast for quite a while prior to our trip. By the time the trip arrived, the forecast was for rain every day. I was very concerned because we have had such a harsh winter and all we wanted was a little warmth and sun. The day we arrived it was 80 and sunny. The entire week was nice, except for one afternoon/evening of rain.

Don't give up hope. The forecast can be wrong.

Have fun!
