anyone know how much of the Ragwing Barn at the Golden Oak Ranch was retained during this renovation? the images on the site don't show much of the interior so it is hard to tell. the outside lines look so straight that I'm wondering if it was taken all the way back to just timber framing.

this was one of the barns used to film the Spin and Marty series. if I remember correctly the side walls were not there at the time and it was open stalls with a shed roof. there are beam ends showing at the low eaves, this is the only sign that I can see on the outside that some of the original barn is still there.

I had to read up on the article, I had no idea what you were talking about. It does seem like the barn had a complete over haul. I have a feeling it was taken down to just the inside beams. If it was over 100 years old, it probably had to much dry rot wood and needed to be replaced.

I seem to recall there was someone on this site that had a lot of information on the Golden Oak Ranch. I could be wrong or maybe they didn't see this post.

I sure that there were other Disney shows filmed there but the one that I most familiar with is the Spin and Marty series from the original Mickey Mouse Club show. the Triple-R ranch was located there. there are production stills that show Walt Disney out there during filming.

the barn may be the only building left. as far as I can tell from the location stills on their web site the bunk houses, dining room and kitchen, horse stables, small barn and main house are gone.
