Can someone pleeease get me excited about this place? DH has his heart set on it, so there's no changing restaurants. This is just one restaurant I can't seem to get excited about. Anyone have any positive input on why I'll like it? Thank you!

Also, on a side note, I'm not vegetarian, but I do only eat chicken or seafood, no beef or pork at all. Maybe that's why I'm not too excited? Seems like my options are limited here.

The Scallop Forest is awesome if they still have it.

This was not a place I wanted to go. We took our youngest son (29) in May and it was his one pick because he and his friends had been before and loved it. I really thought he only wanted to go because this place has a great bar. So I went, against my will. I was pleasantly surprised.

I am not a meat eater. I'm not vegetarian but I do prefer a nice lean fish over a hunk of meat. I had the tomato soup here and it was very good. It was more than filling and I even had a few bites of my husband's bread pudding and wow, it is as good as everyone says it is.

Its one of our favorite places to go. We have gone twice in the past and are looking forward to the next trip to go again. My husband love the bleeding chowder which is all seafood. Trust me, you wont be disappointed

Have fun and enjoy :thumbsup2

It has the best mixed drinks and dessert on property.

There is a live Irish band that plays starting at 8:00PM.

One of my favorite restaurants, in or out of WDW.

They have a nice salmon filet too, if it's still on the menu. Covered with a thin slice of smoked salmon and maple glazed. The bread pudding dessert is filling but sooooo yummy.

Their fish & chips is a much lighter fried version than the more authentic (but heavier batter) one at the UK in Epcot.

I have not been there, but after a week of the deluxeDP my mother said they had the best dessert by far. :goodvibes

Appetiser D'Lirrah for Two

December2009234.jpg

Goats Town - Irish goats cheese terrine made with sauteed garlic, shallots, ****ake mushrooms in an herb and breadcrumb crust served with a berry compote and mixed greens

December2009235.jpg

Mussels - Fresh Blue Hill Bay mussels served in a saffron, grape tomato and leek broth

These are one of the appetizers and two of the six entrees we had at Raglan Road. The scallops as someone said previously were AMAZING:worship:! I would go back for those alone.

We were happy with all of our meals, except DS had a shrimp kid's meal that was literally 5 small shrimp. We ended up supplementing from our meals which were large portions.

We were in the side room so the sound was not so loud and bouncing around. We had a great time and DD loved the Irish dancer. We all sang along to Irish songs. It was great fun.

Hope this helps some! :)

I think the most awesome of the awesome desserts people are posting about is Ger's Bread Pudding. It is a food fit for the Gods!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 "not yer bleeding chowder": if you're a seafood lover, this is great. Salmon is also good. Also awesome desserts here, extensive awesome adult beverage menu and excellent entertainment if you're going in the evening.

Here's some excerpts from my review to tempt your tastes:
Here's beer (they have lots of choices,) and "Iced Irish. Ireland's answer to Starbucks with alcohol added of course. Baileys Irish Cream, Butterscotch Schnapps, Jameson, and iced coffee, topped off with delicious fresh cream."

This one is a Bailey's milkshakes.

Here's our view of the band (against the far wall...the guy standing on the left was leaning on the bar....

This is an appetizer called Smokie City, which is " Oven baked layers of smoked Pollock with mature Wexford cheddar and double cream. Served with crusty bread "

Here's the "Salmon of Knowledge Fresh salmon fillet topped with smoked salmon, baked and served with a
Maple glaze. It’ll give you brains to burn." The salmon was served atop mashed potatoes

Some sort of entree-sized salad...can't remember the name of it.

"It’s not Bleedin’ Chowder! That’s what Master Chef said. It is potatoes, mussels, prawns, scallops and fresh seafood infused with white wine and finished with cream. "

Some sort of berry-crumble...comes ala mode, but we ordered it without because we were probably taking it to go.

This is the only place we have eaten at all 3 years we haven gone to WDW. We are actually eating there again Sept!!! We love it...
There is a chicken dish with mashed potatoes and a spinach mushroom gravy thing that was GREAT...:woohoo::woohoo: The mushrooms were big enough to pick out too in case you don't like mushrooms. :confused3
Good luck and have a great trip!!!

We love Raglan Road! We make a point of eating there every year! The food is delicious, the drinks are great and the Irish band is awesome! Some non beef and pork ideas (I'm not a fan of either too!) - the Posh Pan Chicken or Sesame Seed Coated Haddock. If you like mushrooms, the Portobello Beauty is great too and comes with a small salad side. And if you like mac and cheese, you can ask to order from the kids menu. It's not like the yucky mac and cheese available all over the Disney property. It's made with yummy Dubliner cheese and you can get a small salad to go with it on the side.

I think the most awesome of the awesome desserts people are posting about is Ger's Bread Pudding. It is a food fit for the Gods!

Yes, that was it. I think she said the sauce was what really made it so wonderful. I guess I'll have to tag along now, so I can try it myself. :goodvibes

We have eaten here on every trip since it opened. It has become our favorite place to dine at DD. Ger's bread pudding is out of this world.

we were there last year and really enjoyed it. both of us had the shortribs, which were great. i'm assuming they have good seafood there since it smelled like a fish market, but not in a good way. :lmao: that was my only complaint.

Wow thanks all, this really helped!! And thank you so much catne and koolaid for the pictures!
