Raglan Road - YUM!

We just got in tonight, and immediately after checking in at Pop Century we headed straight for our 7:00 ADR at Raglan Road. We were seated right away in the main room, which is gorgeous. Our servers were friendly and efficient. There were six people in our party - me, hubby, 18yo DD, 18yo DD's best friend, and my Mom and Dad.

Dad's the only beer drinker in the group, and he was delighted to find that they have Smithwick (if I'm remembering that right) on tap. For appetizers, we had 2 Colpuccino soups and 1 order of the ribs - all wonderful, as was the soda bread and guinness reduction/olive oil dip.

The girls split split a steak, which they loved - they said it was really tender. I had the Tricolor Salad, which I loved. Hubby had Kevin's Kudos (roast loin of bacon), which he loved. I had a bite of it, and I loved it too. Do you sense a theme developing here? Mom had the Pie in the Sky, which she loved. She said the chicken in it could have been more tender, but the broth was so good it made up for it. Dad had the mussels, which he loved, especially the broth.

As wonderful as the appetizers and entrees were, they were outshined by the dessert. We got 2 orders of Bread and Butter Pudding for the table. Oh My Gosh. That was incredible. The bread pudding was good all by itself, but what really made it was the butterscotch and Irish cream sauces that come with it to pour on top. We were all crazy about this dessert.

Concerning the sizes of the helpings, we all thought they were generous - certainly none of us left hungry. Concerning the DDE card - we asked if it was accepted, and were told that it will be in about a month, as well as AP and DVC discounts. For tonight, however, we were happy to have one of the Clear Channel gift certificates.

To sum up -
Raglan Road = beautiful surroundings, friendly and efficient staff, and great food. We would absolutley come back again.

It's good to hear somebody had a good experience there :) ; I, however, can not say the same. Food was decent, but overpriced...wait was too long, and the servers were inefficient. There are very few places at WDW where I'm adamant in not returning, and sadly this was one of them...

That's strange. We were able to use the Dining Experience Card there last month without any problem for the 20% discount.

I concur on the Bread & Butter pudding. Best I've ever had. It's awesome! I recommend it highly. It's worth dining just for that.

We had a good experience there as well. Loved the Irish music and dancing that starts up at 9 PM nightly. Felt like we were in Dublin.

We were also able to use our disney dining card on our first visit, we had the clear channel gift cert for the second visit.

We agree, the food and service here are excellent. This is now one of our top 5 restaurants on disney property.

All these positive reviews have set me to thinking--maybe we'll try it in May. We have two "slots" still open for diner.

I love the Tricolor and the Bread Pudding - yummmmmy!!!

I was told by the waitress that they now accept the DDE card, and cast member discounts and such. It was Christmas, so I knew the DDE card wasn't accepted then, so we didn't use it.

Alright I just switched our ADR after Cirque from Fulton's to Raglan Road. The kids wanted to go to Fulton's again but we've been there about 10 times already. It's nice being the dictator in the family.

We also had a wonderful time and meal at Raglan Road in mid December.
DH had One and One (fish/chips), two DS's had the Fada Burger which they raved about. I only had the Drunk Chicken appetizer as a light meal since we had a late lunch that day and I didn't want to eat very heavy later in the evening. It was excellent. I would have liked to try a dessert, but, knew I would be too full if I did. Next time we visit we'll go earlier in the evening
(it was about 9:30 or 9:45 when we were there). The entertainment was wonderful, also. We were there on a week night and the crowd was very light. We had no ressies and were seated immediately.

Is Raglan Road part of the dining plan? Now that the plan is available to DVC members, I'm definately getting it for our Oct trip!

Thanks for the review. We have the GC and will be at WDW in under 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to dining at Raglan Road.

Please don't throw things at me, but....

where is Raglan Road, and how long has it been there?? Has it really been that long since i've been out of the disney loop?!!

Thanks for sharing your review. Can't wait to try out Raglan Road on my next trip. :flower:

Raglan Road is located at Pleasure Island, it opened in late October. :flower:

So good to hear positive reports about Raglan Road! We will be in 'The World' only a few days after our Wonder cruise later this month and have RR ressies. The earlier negative reviews were worrying.

Thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to trying it sometime (hopefully when we go in May).

PrincessAngelika, it's new and in DTD.

Thank you for asking where this restaurant was, Princess Angelika...I had never heard of it either.

We have been discussing where to eat the first night we are there. The Irish theme everyone is speaking of sounds as though it will appeal to mmy husband. Is it appropriate for kids...boys 14 and 11.

Our park tickets will not include Pleasure Island...will we be able to eat there w/out paying to get in?

Oh, and by the way, I am a Steelers fan in Browns town...married to a Browns fan. Christmas Eve was tough for one of us. Sorry I've gone off topic.

Pleasure Island has taken the turnstiles down, and now you just pay for club admissions instead of the whole Island.

HTH!

Good to see a positive review for this one! We have ressies there for our trip in May!!! Can't wait! :earsgirl:

Thanks for posting. We will try to go to dinner when we are at WDW in May. Is priority seating available? Annmarie
