Is it worth it to go to Downtown Disney for a meal at Raglan Road? I read great reviews in the Unofficial Guide and it sounds like they have some entertainment. Their menu looks delicious, too. Thanks.

I think it's worth it! We usually get a rental car, so it is really easy to get there. We loved RR so much we (me, DD18, DS12) ate there twice during free dining :thumbsup2 It was easily one of our best meals.

We make sure to go there on every trip, the food is great! If you go you must try the "Heaven on Earth" appetizer - to die for!! :thumbsup2

I enjoyed the food, but we finished before the entertainment started. I'd definitely return. Their biggest seller: Ger's Bread and Butter Pudding dessert. It's well deserved to be a top-seller. :thumbsup2

I think it's WELL worth it (just wish I'd felt like eating during my last visit :()

I love the atmosphere, we go every trip. My husband loves the food there, I'm a vegetarian so there aren't tons of choices for me but I had a fabulous salad last trip.

We love the scallop forest and the It's Not Bleedin Chowder....I have dreams about it. The Keen Eye for the Shepherd's Pie however as well as the fish n chips are BORING and NOT worth it. Get the chowder if you love seafood. And the drinks are good and service always good. I like the atmosphere too.

Yet another vote for RR.....but, it would be a sin of the Irish to miss the Heaven on Earth Ribs. Seriously, they are a must. And do save room for the bread and butter pudding, and the lovely sauces that go with it....add some to each spoonful (just my opinion....)...it is big enough to share, so not soooo much guilt is involved;)

Had one of the worst dinners ever there!

It was half way to st paddy's day :sad2:

loud, horrible service and just not a good night. Reminds be of eating in a very loud bar rather than a restaurant. Although the bread pudding was to die for!

Another Yes vote for Raglan Road. We will make the trip to DTD just to do this. We love the food and the atmosphere. I made an 8:30 ADR so we could be there for the band, which starts at 9. It was great fun. I think it was our favorite night of the trip.
I can't wait to go back again.
Have a great trip

The Keen Eye for the Shepherd's Pie however as well as the fish n chips are BORING and NOT worth it.

I wanted to add on to this.....I had decided to try the Shepards Pie and icckkkk...it was not for me at all. I had only had a few bites and the server had come by and asked if I enjoyed it. I told him that I didn't care for it and he asked me what he could replace it with, I decided I was contently full, and declined anything else (actually figured I could eat more bread and butter pudding then!) He took it off the bill, with out batting an eye. When we told him it wasn't neccessary to do it, he replied by saying, if you didn't like it and didn't eat it, you are certainly not paying for it! That is yet another reason it is on our list to eat at every trip!

It is worth a trip for Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding alone!!!!!!!:lovestruc

Go for the booze and the music-not for the food. We had ADRs and we excited to have real Irish pub food. Not even close-the food was horrible! My DH is from Dublin and I've been- and I can tell you that it is "Irish" food for tourists.

That being said-it's a fun lively atmosphere-but nothing like a real Irish pub.

While I thought the food was o.k., the atmosphere was definitely great. Now, I made the mistake of going right after seeing Cirque. It was definitely sensory overload for me but my fault. On any other night I would have loved it even more. However, next time dh and I go we already know we will sit at the bar and enjoy the atmosphere. Now dessert...that was a whole 'nother story. Could have ate my weight in the desert that dh had!

I've really liked Raglan Road but I am not sure if I'd make a trip out to DTD just to go there. It was my place of choice if the Adventurers Club opened late, to sit at the bar and have a scallop forest or some bread pudding. If I had something else to do at DTD (although now I am not sure what that might be) I'd go back there.

We really enjoyed our trip to Raglan Road. I must be in the minority but I loved the shepherd's pie! The pie in the sky (chicken/mushroom in pastry) was just okay. I was thrilled to get sticky toffee pudding for dessert and yes, the Ger's Bread and Butter Pudding is as good as everyone says it is. We were there for the band and the dancer but couldn't see...only hear...and still had a wonderful time. Service was excellent too.

I hate to be the voice of dissent, but the only really bad dining experience I've had at Disney was at RR. The server was awful, just really rude and she complained about us where we could hear her because we have the nerve to ask for salad dressing--for a salad! The food was so-so. We might have had the bread pudding on a bad night, but it was just ordinary, maybe a step above cafeteria bread pudding. I will say that it's a pretty atmosphere and they've done a really good job with the theming, but I would only eat there again if forced.

We make a point of eating here a couple time a trip. The food is wonderful. It's not "traditional" Irish pub food, but it's not supposed to be. The original chef, Kevin, is from Ireland and his menu is a concept of gourmet Irish food. The mussels are wonderful, so is the stew as well as the fish and chips. The only thing I miss there is Danielle. She was the Irish dancer that was there for the first couple years, but she has gone to the new Kansas City location. Danielle is from Dublin and used to dance with Riverdance. They now have some local Irish dancers, and although they're pretty good, they're not as good as she was. The band "Tuskar Rock" is just awesome.

If you want good servers, ask for Tony or Todd, both are very personable and will go out of their way to make your night.

We went twice last trip and thought the food, service and atmosphere were all good. My only complaint was that there were no vegetarian starters on the menu. But the portabello mushroom main course was lovely.
