We, I know there have been several reports from Raglan Road but since some lately have concerned forummembers (myself included prior to my trip), I wanted to share another report.

My DW and DD went to RR just after La Nouba last Saturday for 8:00 ARDs. We walked up at 7:58 and were seated within 3 minutes. The resturant was about 80% full and the bar 100%. We were seated two tables from the stage and after seeing the whole place, I don't think there would be many bad tables.

The resturant is beautiful! The lighting was dark but not too dark to enjoy your food. We were greated by our server who made us feel like she had all the time in the world to help us. If we asked her something she didn't know, she found the answer. We ordered a few beers and Cherry coke for my DD and for dinner, the Fada burgers and chicken sliders for my DD. They were very good. The bacon on the burgers was thick and very good.

For desert, we ordered the Dunbrody's Kiss and a Crembrule (spelling) made with Bailey's Irish Cream (to share), along with two Irish coffees. My daughter..another cherry coke (I can see a late night sugar rush comming! Ha!) Just beofre we left, the band came on and we were able to hear one song before getting my DD down for the night. They were fantastic! These guys were professionals.

We used a Clear Channel Cert and had no problems. We were presented with an itemized bill that had $50 taken off the bottom manualy and a new total hand written. All in all, the service, food and atmosphere were great. We even had a manager walk to our table and ask us how we were enjoying our evening. If you have been concerned, you can relax. It seems that the bugs have been worked out. It is still rather expensive for the portion size and that is why we order the burgers. We saw a few of the dinners that walked by and it would have taken two for me. :rotfl:

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it, Shasta! Plus, I'm dying to know whether or not you wore your kilt, and how it went over if you did.

Glad to read this. I imagine it takes many restaurants a while to work out the kinks.

What kind of bun are the burgers served on? And what is a Dunbrody's Kiss? Did the music start at 9pm?

I was concerned about what seems to be small portions. We're going in Dec. for dinner and DH enjoys a good meal. Will he be hungry afterward? Any other recommendations?

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been looking forward to trying this place, but the mixed reviews were a little disconcerting. I'm glad that you had no issues with the clear channel certificate and were presented with an itemized bill. We have two of the certificates to use. Did you tell them about the certificate up front, or did you present it only after you received the bill?

Thanks for the review, Shasta. So glad you and your family enjoyed it! We're hoping to get there on our next trip! :flower:

Ok, in order:

LiteBrite, I didn't wear my kilt. The reason is that it weighs a lot and we only brought carry on baggage. It's hand made peronaly for me and took up half my bag. I was sorry to have given it up though.

BCV23, the burgers were served on a bun that appeared to be made on site. It had roasted onion on top. It was a good match for the burger. Below is the Dunbrody's Kiss. It's chocolate as you see but there is orange in the mix. It's great. (the picture credits belong to MJC05). And yes, the band starts at 9:00...sharp.

Kellypops, the portions are small. Here is a link to another thread that I found very helpful. That is the very reason we ordered the burgers. If we hadn't fasted since breakfast, we'd have ordered something else. We were starved!

Dvcgirl, I actualy forgot about it until our burgers arrived. I told the waitress then and she happily took it. When she brought the bill it looked like a normal itemized reciept but she had taken a pen and had taken the $50 off, giving us a "new" total. She did say that she couldn't take it off with thier registers but I did get a itemized bill. I assume that thier registers aren't (or the people aren't) designed to have gift certificates. I tend to think it's a training thing. Most all POS programs are designed to accept a gift certificate.

Doodle, thank you for sharing that RR certificate. It help us out greatly! I hope when you do go, you enjoy it aqs much as we did.

Thanks for the response. That dessert looks great.

Enjoyed reading your review ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks for the review! We're looking forward to eating there.
