We will be traveling late February. We would like to see the entertainment. When would be a good reservation time (if they are necessary)? Thanks.

Entertainment generally starts at 9pm Mon-Sat (band and dancer), and 8pm Sunday (pianist I think). You probably want a reservation before that, perhaps 8:30 or so. Note that not all tables have a view of the stage...

What is their entertainment?

Uh....I mentioned it already... :)

A Irish band and a step dancer Mon-Sat. The band starts at 9 - I think the dancer comes on a little later after the band is warmed up.

I'm not familiar with the guy who plays on Sundays.

They have their own web page here.

If you have trouble getting a reservation through Disney Dining try OpenTable.com. I wanted a ressie for 5 this past December and Disney Dining had nothing. I found the OpenTable link on the Raglan Road website and had no trouble getting exactly the date and time I wanted. We went at 8:00 and the band was playing and the dancer started shortly after. The table we had was kind of far from the stage but I enjoyed listening to the band. BTW, the food was excellent and the service better!! The desserts were something special.

We went twice in early/mid October and walked in both times, once as a party of two and once as a party of six.

During low crowd times it is true that a reservation may not be necessary, but it can't hurt. And it can guarantee you a seat if there is a sudden rush when the entertainment starts, which happens on occasion.

During busy times, if you want to be seated during the entertainment a reservation is pretty necessary.

July 2007 I can say it was absolutely necessary. Early Dec 2007 it was probably necessary, although we we able to walk in to sit at the bar without issue.

Getting an ADR for a meal you WANT never hurts, unless for some reason you feel there is a good chance you will not be able to make it. Some ADRs come with a penalty for not canceling with enough notice (RR is not one AFAIK).
