Raglan Road Question

We will be at WDW in Jan and RR is the one place my DH & kids want to go....for the live music as we are not drinkers. We have ever been but I have seen more good reviews than bad. I also am not one to leave a park for a meal and then return. Time is money at the mouse. We have dinner planned for an evening we will explore DTD.

Here is the web site if you want more info. Have fun!

Tho the bread pudding is excellent, it's mostly Irish "Pub Grub" otherwise. The Fish N' Chips I had last trip weren't even up to the standards of Arthur Treachers. If you are in the area it may be worth trying, but not worth any special trip.
Unless you just want to sit at the bar and have some good beer.
DJbounce: The entertainment usually starts around 9:00 PM, give or take. It's one Irish Lass dancing alone for a minute or two at a time. The rest is an Irish band. There are parts of the restaurant where you cannot see or really hear any of the entertainment.

Seems like the experiences vary. Ours (twice) have been good to great. The band is very likeable and terrific musicians. The dancer is good and very friendly - we watched her interact with some little girls and she also spent some time with DD who is also an irish dancer. Unfortunately, she only dances 1x per set. But, unlike competition dancing, she dances for a whole song - and does a very impressive duel/duet with the drummer during one of her sets.

The food is good - I had ham last time and steak this time. Both yummy. DH had the chowder this time (wasn't along last time) and LOVED it. DD had the chowder last time and fish/chips this time. We hadn't been "warned" about the chowder really being more mussels and cream sauce - DD wasn't thrilled but it was just up DH's alley. Her fish this time was just lovely. Desserts are to die for!! Bread-and-butter pudding, Baileys creme brulee cheesecake. Yum!

They had an extra musician sitting in while we were there - a redheaded female fiddler that we'd seen in Riverdance - which made the music even better.

We'll be there again!

I'm not a big fan of eating where you aren't. Very very few of the Disney restaurants are worth a special trip just to eat there. If you're taking the evening off, or spending it in DTD, sure. Raglan Road is pretty good. But, leave just to eat? I'd rather eat in a resort closer to the park I am in, or the park itself.

I agree. I plan my meal based on where I'm going to be. We have a reservation at RR for this next trip (and I'm very excited about it), but we're planning to spend the whole evening in DTD. If I were going to be in a park, and planned to return to that park, I would not go over to DTD. Now, if it's your AK day, leaving AK in the afternoon and heading over to DTD would make sense, but I'd hang out in DTD for the rest of the night.

Love RR, ate there my last trip a few weeks ago now. But worth leaving a park for it? No...go on a down day when visiting DTD, worth going to, just not the hassle of leaving and going back to the parks IMO. :goodvibes

Like the others I wouldn't leave the park to eat there. We usually arrive at wdw late so we spend that day the dtd and that's when we eat there. If you've built in dtd/shopping day, then I would definitely eat there...order the It's not bleeding chowder and bread pudding.
