Can anyone help me, with regards to Raglan Road? We're thinking of having our welcome/rehearsal dinner at Raglan Road, a few nights prior to the wedding.

There should be approximately 25 people, with 6 under 12s...there will probably be 4 under 9s.

Is the group seated in a seperate room, or in one of the arms of the restaurant? Also, is the normal menu used or can you create a 'custom menu' and choose items you want to be available to guests?

Oh, and what would everyone suggest us paying for? Appetizer, entree and dessert, along with non-alcoholic drinks? We couldn't really do just two of three courses as, for example, DF loves desserts but I love appetizers and we can't agree.

Also, is the tip added on automatically?

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

We had our very casual rehearsal dinner at Raglan Road, there were 18 of us and we were seated in a snug type area just next to the main dining area. We did have to sit at 3 separate tables though. The gratuity was added on I think.
I don't think there are any private rooms, but I could be wrong.

We had the same number for our welcome dinner, 25. However, it was a pay-your-own deal, and no one was forced to come. We were not seated in a separate room, but more off to the side. We took up several tables, which was a little stressful because it meant I had to walk around more and into different conversations all night. We obviously, didn't do a custom menu which turned out to be great because burgers were half off and a lot of people opted for that. I think it would have been nice to have a separate room because it was very loud, however, it was neat for them to see the irish dancing and to be a little more rowdy than if they were in a quiet secluded spot. Not to mention that my DH had his family at another part of the restaurant (coincidence in planning!) and so it was nice to be able to walk over. If we were in another room, I would have never known they were there!

I'm a little confused, you're having your rehearsal dinner a couple nights before the wedding? If so, I think it would be nice to pay for an entree, dessert and non-alcoholic drinks for everyone. I know you're caught up on appetizer or dessert. I prefer having the dinner with something sweet afterward rather than the same type of food twice. However, appetizers are a great idea if your guests have been waiting or you have late reservations. Either way you can't go wrong.:thumbsup2

Also they have a website: http://www.raglanroadirishpub.com/ If you click on "Get in Here" and the "Convention Party Central" it tells you that you CAN customize a menu for your guests. So that should help you out.

Thank you both so much for your help! :goodvibes

The meal is probably going to be a welcome dinner, as we're toying with getting the Grand I for our rehearsal, seeing as we don't have a large wedding party...but not completely sure on that yet.

I think we'll try and customise a menu, seeing as we'll be paying for it :cutie:

I'm glad that its not in a seperate room, as I really enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant and it would be nice if there was some entertainment occuring at the time.

The reservation will probably be for around 7:45, so quite late(ish).

Thanks for your help again! :thumbsup2

We looked into having our welcome dinner there. They were really helpful! You might be able to fit in the Snug area that would be sort of private. We have 30 people and they would have put us in one of the side rooms but they wouldn't guarantee that it was private without paying the F&B minimum which was $2,500. They have banquet menus or you can order from the regular menu. I think the banquet menus ranged from $35 to $55 a person. You could also just choice three entrees from the regular menu and pay for what is ordered. We were going to do that with some shared appetizers.
