For drinks & appetizers only. Tonight (Wed.) was the first night, one bartender confessed he didn't know they would be open until he saw the doors open at 6.

Very different feel from Jazz Club--only the circular structure of the building remains. Not surprisingly, lots of wood and leather; there is also a circle of windows high above the main dining room (I'm sure there is an archetectural term for it but I don't know it). Much more light. Far more upscale than I would have expected a "pub" to be, but it is the first night and everything is new and shiney. There's a big portrait of Bono (from U2) which also just jumped out at me for some reason.

The band will start "around the 20th." Live entertainment 7 nights a week, one of the tables is even wired with microphones for a step dancer. For now, they play pop/rock music by Irish artists.

Ultimately, there will also be two outside bars.

Had a Guiness to celebrate the occasion, so please forgive any typos.

Glad to see it's open. Hope they can keep the "noise" level down a bit below that of Planet Hollywood. Dosen't sound like it though---
Can you hear yourself think??

I wonder what time the entertainment will start each evening? I made a ADR for 6:45 as we want to catch an early Comedy Warehouse and AC show.....

Hmm, maybe I can convince FH to take me down there tonight to check it out. :)

Uncle Romulus, it is basically one giant circular room, with a high ceiling. While the music was far from blaring, given the number of people they clearly expect (one huge main bar, at least two side bars, and a lot of tables), I think it will be far from the ideal spot for a quiet dinner. Noise wasn't bad last night, but there was a (relatively) small crowd and no live entertainment.

Tramp's Lady, sorry, didn't learn what time entertainment starts. If I hear or see anything, I'll post.

Forever42, definitely do so if you can; seeing it without the crowds gives you a chance to really appreciate what they've done. It was already beginning to attract a crowd last night--a rainy Wednesday in the off-season--with zero advertising. Be the 21st I suspect this one will be packed out.

Jason~ COuld you tell us the drinks menu? Beers? Whiskeys?? Any unusual or typically "Irish" drinks :3dglasses :wizard:

I've looked on the internet and couldn't find them. Does anyone have a phone number for them? Do I just call the regular disney dining number? I got one of those $50 certificates for $25 and want to make sure I can use it.

Thanks, for your help.

Never mind, I answered my own question. I just misspelled the name.

Did not see a drink menu yet (I'm sure one will be ready by next week), but they have a full bar, and several beers on tap. I didn't ask about or notice the selection of whiskeys, but given the level of detail in the decor, I'm sure they have several from Ireland.

BTW, the bartender said this was a $20 million renovation!

Do you remember what was on tap, besides Guinness?

Edit: ok, great, FH said we can go :)

Just booked a PS for 10/19. The CM said I was her first one. DH and I have been to Nine Fine Irishmen in Las Vegas and are looking forward to this one.

I signed up for the gift certificate .... and will be taking my DD to the U2 concert in Tampa in November ... a picture of Bono in this place is the deal-maker for me. :cheer2:

Mmmm Bono would do it for me too
swandiverpatt - Enjoy the concert - We saw them in Glasgow in the summer and it was fantastic.

I think I'll try this in Feb - can you take children (8 + 11)in the evening?

I've been to a few U2 concerts before -- it'll be my DD's first time -- I hope she knows I go into full U2 concert mode for the whole concert. She better have her sunglasses and disguise with her ... :rotfl2:

Where did you all get the certificates?

We'll be there a week from Saturday prepping for our cruise that leaves the next day! :drinking1 :shamrock:
