In case this has not yet been posted, they will be opening this September, {just in time for our trip} They have a website at: www.raglanroadirishpub.com {I also posted this on the restaurant board}

Sorry, click on it again. I had a "d" that did not belong. It is raglan, no "d". I just corrected it.

Yes, I saw this announced in the Disney Insider yesterday. We can't wait, but, unfortunately we'll have to. We've already planned every single meal for our Dec trip; we'll have to boot this one to August 06!

Thanks for posting the website; it looks fun!

I remember when I went to Ireland, one thing that realy stuck with me was that the beer was never cold. Anyone else who's been to Ireland recall this??? If so, then how genuine can this place really be...

I don't know about Ireland specifically, but most European countries drink their beer warm. They think we're the odd ones with our ice cold brews.

I remember reading some time ago that the Jazz club was being replaced with an Irish Pub. Is this it? Also, the website just says downtown Disney area. Will we have to pay for Pleasure Island access to visit the pub? I sure hope not. Does anyone know for sure?

Yes, this is the one you read about, and I contacted them at the web site, and they said PI admission will NOT be required. I guess they will do something like they did with RC at the AK.

Excellent! Thanks a bunch for the information Mitros.

Now I am even more excited about checking out the pub during the first week of October, when my wife and I are at WDW.

PI is set up at this time to allow for guests to walk around without paying, been this way since at least last October '04. You need a ticket to get into a club, but not walk around. They now scan passes at the door to each club.

This is on my plan for October '05, so it is nice to hear that they will be open in time.

We're there!

Oktoberfest in St. Augustine on the way to Disney...

Food and Wine Festival at Epcot...

AND an authentic Irish Pub in Downtown Disney- we're staying at the Doubletree 1 mile away- stumbling home the Irish way!

Now that's how I keep my homebrew hubby happy-whoo hooo!

I put it on the off-site restaurant thread... hopefully I won't get flamed that Downtown Disney is not technically offisite :guilty:

THANKS MITROS- I sent the link to my hubby!

You know, I was wondering what the situation was over there at PI. It used to be open all day long, and we went out there and walked around and looked in all the stores and grabbed a quick bite. Sometime last year {perhaps in Oct. of 2004?} they closed it until 7PM, and changed the admission price. Haven't been to PI since that time. So what you are saying is that anyone can go to PI, after it opens at 7PM, and eat and visit the stores without paying admission unless you want to visit the clubs?

Not actually warm, but cellar temperature, which is around 50-55 degrees.

Thats correct, you only have to pay admission for the clubs, anyone can walk around and shop and get drinks at the outside vendors without a ticket.

when its cold and wet the last thing you want is a cold beer. :rotfl:

What? it's always cold and wet in Ireland? Or are you refering to PI?
PS: Anybody know what's wrong with the smiles?

When I'm expecting a cold frosty beer, the last thing I want is to be tricked! LOL!
