Switched around some ADRs and we will now be eating a late dinner at Raglan Road. I've looked at the dinner menu and everything looks so yummy! What has everyone had and recommend? What should we stay away from?

Equally important...what did you have for dessert? What did you like?

also, will they have the entertainment on a Wednesday night?

TIA!

We were there the first Wednesday night in September and there was entertainment that night.

As for the menu, I had the Salmon of Knowledge and it was amazing. I would definitely order it again. The kids all had the fish and chips and thought they were great (and they are fussy about their fish and chips). I can't remember what DH had but he loved it.

I'm sure you won't go too wrong with whatever you order!

This was the only restaurant I didn't enjoy when we went to Disney. I had the ham, and was very disappointed with it. DH had the fish and chips and didn't care for it either. The kids wouldn't even touch their mac and cheese. I hope you have a better experience than we did!

I love love love the "It's Not Bleedin' Chowder" and have it every time I eat there. My hands down favorite dessert is the Ger's Bread Pudding. :lovestruc

There should be the band playing after 8pm. on Wednesdays.

Thanks for all the responses! It looks like I'll be ordering the bread pudding...hope I can convince BF to order the creme brulee or the chocolate cake so I can taste those too!

Was going back and forth between the bleeding chowder, the ham or the salmon. I think the salmon is in the lead right now! But that's always subject to change....

Can't wait to try as much of it as I can! :cool1:

Save room for the bread pudding! It's very filling and rich, but soooo yummy.

The salmon and fish & chips are what I like here. Salmon has a thin slice of smoked salmon on top with a light maple glaze. Haven't tried the Chowder yet, but it looks good too. I've had the ham and shepard's pie, not bad, just OK. Hubby has tried the bangers & mash too, just OK.

:thumbsup2 Bread pudding! I think I had the shepard's pie and dh had the plate o'meat (not its real name, but you'll know it on the menu!). He loved it, mine was okay. I am not big on heavy food and red meat. Love heavy desserts, tho, and ordere'd dunbrody's kiss...chocolately goodness but for once I preferred the non-chocolate choice, dh's bread pudding.

You GOT to try the Seared Beef Salad! When I go I have to have that and the bread pudding.

We didn't like the food at all. But to be fair DH is from Ireland. We were expecting real Irish food and we got Americans attempting to make Irish food:rolleyes:. But the atmosphere was fun.

The only thing I feel strong enough about to say stay away from is the Stew. It was horrid! No flavor, 3 pieces of beef and all fatty-not good at all.:guilty:

I thought that Raglan Road had the best meal of my entire trip. I suggest the bread pudding, too. For you main course I recommend It's not bleeding chowder. Sounds gross, but it was fantastic!

I unfortunately didn't have room for dessert, but I can tell you that the fish & chips and beef stew were both delicious (I tried my mom's and cousin's..) and I had Kevin's heavenly ham, which was indeed heavenly :littleangel:

WE LOVE Raglan Road. In fact, its become tradition that every time we go, we hit Raglan Road on our first night there. There is an authentic Irish band playing there M-Sat. My DS has loved them since he was 2.5, he is 5 now. My DS who is 3 now loves them as well. There is also an Irish dancer there too. The food is really good, and we love the scallops as an app and then the desserts are great too!

I can't wait to go back! Its one of the few restaurants that aren't owned by WDW, but does participate with the DDP.

Was there last Thursday (the place was dead) and my wife got the chowder and said it was awesome. I got the fish and chips and thought they were pretty darn good too.

The bread pudding was simply sinful. I felt like I was cheating on my wife.

Bread pudding for dessert is a MUST! Also the Goat's Town salad was REALLY tasty! Make sure to try the tomato soup, too.

My internet is slow so I'm having trouble posting photos, but there are some pictures in the dining review that's linked in my signature :)

We've never been, but we're really looking forward to trying it out. This will be one of ADR's.

My husband and I always split the huge appetizer for two (I think this is not listed on the online menus, but is definitely there on the restaurant menu), and then get the bread and butter pudding for dessert. That way, we get a large selection of food, but also have room for dessert (the best part of the whole trip is that bread pudding!). One of our fav meals.

last week was my first time eating at Ragland Road and i had the keen eye for the shepherds pie and it was delicious. i told my date that if she wasnt there i would be trying to lick my plate when nobody was watching. it was so good that i asked for the recipe to attempt to make it at home. i did get the recipe but havent tried it yet .

she had the pie in the sky.she has never been a big eater but she ate all of her dinner. so i knew it was good without asking her.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2That's what we had...was outstanding. Also had the sausage appetizer (can't think of the name of it...it's battered & fried sausages. Seriously yummy.) Also loved the Bailey's Irish Cream shakes.

The band is fabulous...bunch of kids (like the youngest is maybe 12 years old...lead singer is 17 or 18? It's a family...apparently they're good enough to compete in national music competitions in Ireland.) Anyway, seems like they all play 2-3 different instruments, great harmonies. And a couple of the girls do the Irish step-dancing too.
