I have ADR for Raglan Road next month at 7pm. I hear nothing but good about Ger's Bread Pudding, but I'm hearing the service is slow and mixed reviews on the food. I really want totry either the sole or the sausage stuffed pork. Anybody have any thoughts suggestions etc.. ????

We ate there in Sept. 06 for the first time and liked it enough to return in Sept. 2007. :goodvibes I haven't done my TR or DR for that trip yet but you can read my review for the 2006 trip at http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1239387. I used to have the link on my signature but had to remove due to size. There are pictures of most of the food we ate.

We had good service both times. It can be very loud if you are near the band. We ask to be seated as far away as possible.

I had the “It’s not Bleedin’ Chowder” both times, it was so good. :cloud9: As is the Bread 'n Butter Pudding.

Have a great time.

We had a great experience the last time we were there. Food was excellent, service was more than adequate. The live music was the best part.

We went in September, though pricey (we were not on DDP) we thought the food was excellent, the service very good and the atmosphere wonderful. DH had the Ham dinner, I had the salad and both kids had fish and chips. The bread pudding was out of this world and though disappointed with the size of the meals ( we found the portions to be rather small)they left plenty of room for dessert.

i've gone 2x. food was mostly good (not great, but certainly good). service was great both times.
but the "show" (first time was a band with one member doing a jig, 2nd was a lone singer) has very talented performers ~ it was worth going just to see them :thumbsup2

We ate here three times. Lovely food. The portions are not massive, but it certainly filled us. I couldnt eat a three course. The jerk chicken and paddy's pork or sod the stew was enough for me.

I ate there in May and I found the both the food and the service to be excellent! My meal took some time but that was because I was slowing it down so that I could listen to the band!

Our last visit to Ragland Road was on a quiet Monday night. The restaurant was never more than 1/2 full. We sat to dinner at 7ish, had good (if small) meals and dessert. Then asked out waitress if we could keep the table to watch the band, which doesn't start until 9pm. We stayed to the end of the first set, 11:30 that night, with drink refills from our waitress.

A previous trip we arrived on a Saturday night and the place was packed. The band was still great, but there were a lot of people standing especially around the bars. If you prefer empty or busy, choose accordingly. The food is quite good, but very small portions for the price. We went for the band anyway. :)

We had a great time here back and May and will definately return. Our reservations were for 8:00. We got their a little early and checked in and got called. I didn’t want to sit right away as I didn’t want to feel like we had to leave before the music started. My DH told the girls at the desk that we really wanted to be there for the band and she said. "Oh then wait a little because I have you in the room away from the band". So we wait another 5 minutes and get brought to our table – Right in front of the band! We were afraid they would be too loud for my mom and dad but they loved it.

So on to the food. DH and I got the scallop forest to share and mom and dad both got the drunk chicken. The chicken was a little dry, but the scallops were yummy (but really not enough scallops for the price.) Dad got the fish and chips which he loved, mom got the sesame seed haddock, which when it came out she made a funny face at, but when she tasted it she said it tasted much better than it looked. DH got the steak which was ok and I got the It's Not Bleedin' Chowder. At first it was ok but once the flavors mixed it was really good. The mussels were too big for me to eat but there was plenty of other fish and scallops to eat instead.

For dessert mom and dad both got an apple pie/tart thing and DH and I split the sampler. It had the bread and butter pudding, the dunbrody kiss (chocolate mousse) and I think a berry and ice cream shell. OMG! I would just come back here just for the dessert. It was fantastic! Just before our desserts came, the band began to play and we had a great time singing and clapping along.

This was definitely a great night.

I've been there six times, only had less-than-excellent service once, probably because it was after 11pm and our waiter was tired. But we still had a great time that night.

I think the food is quite good, though once I had the pork loin and it was a bit dry, I've had it before and it was excellent, so probably just a bad night. The steak is quite good, and if you are there late, the burger on the pub menu is the best burger on property if you ask me.

This was our first meal at WDW and we loved it! It was DH's only request for a restaurant and it was a hit with all 3 of us!

We ate there Christmas Day. Had an ADR for 5:15 and were seated at 7:20. I think we might have been more enthusiastic about the restaurant without the 2-hour wait. We thought it was good but our least favorite of our sit-downs on that trip. We also were starved since we were expecting to have a really early dinner and ate accordingly for lunch. I had Paddy's Pork, which was good but not spectacular. The serving was pretty big, though -- bigger than I expected. It is served on top of potatoes which have a few pieces of cabbage (and maybe somthing else) pressed into them. The potatoes were not as good as the ones on the skillet at Whispering Canyon. We had some chocolate dessert, which was okay. Two of my young adult sons had the steak and said it was excellent.

We had such a great experience at RR-food, atmosphere and service-during our last trip that we actually ended up eating there twice during that trip. :thumbsup2 My DH enjoyed the Paddy's Pork so much that he had it twice in one week. The Goats Town appy was one of the best appys i have ever had, in & out of WDW. Loved the atmosphere for both an early dinner and a late dinner with the entertainment. Service was great. We can not wait to return to RR! :goodvibes

We went to Raglan Road for the first time when we were there at Christmas. The menu we had was different than the one posted here and at allears, so I do not have all the proper names for what we ate. We had lunch so everyone basically did salad and sandwiches, but the sandwiches were excellent, the salads fresh and rather large for side salads. The sandwich I had was basically a re-imagined lobster roll. It was stacked between 3 toasted rounds of crustless bread, had a really nice dressing that allowed the flavor of the lobster to shine through and was layered with micro-greens; it was accompanied by a Caesar Salad. My DW had a chicken sandwich with a side of the fingerling potatoes and was very pleased. DD14 had the calamari as her meal and DD2 & DD5 each had the kids mac & cheese with a side salad. Everyone left happy with the food and talked of coming back again. The only problem we encountered here was less than stellar service, but we enjoyed the lunch and the atmosphere.

:thumbsup2
