FIL booked us a 2 bedroom suite at Raffles and what I read at Tripadvisor isn't so great. Anyone stayed there before - any advice?

It's between an economy & moderate property. I haven't stayed there, but I visited it, and the rooms were nicer than I first thought they would be. I think it's a good value property, especially if you need a suite.

we stayed there and it wasn't our favorite place. Nothing really wrong with it but it was just very average. I'm sure you have a nicer room too. Ours was just a standard on the bottom floor and we had all kinds of noisy people walking by and one night (at 3:00 AM!!!) someone started up their VERY NOISY truck and let it run for at least 1/2 an hour. It woke us all up and kept us up I might add. The hot tub was lukewarm at best and the continental breakfast was awful. But on a brighter note, here's some advice. I don't know if you are using the ART shuttle but if you do here's an idea. On the way TO DL it's great because the Raffles is the last pick up so the ride to DL is quick. On the way BACK, the Raffles is one of the last stops. We finally figured out that the best thing to do is to get dropped off at the stop across the street from the Raffles and walk across the street. Much, much faster - especially at the end of the day when you are tired, tired, tired! Have a great trip! And remember, you really aren't in your room very much anyway but you are at the happiest place on earth ;) !

You didn't rain on my parade. My FIL has higher standards than I do and I am more worried about him not liking it than I am my family. Since he made the reservations and he's paying the bill I don't really feel like I can say much about it anyway. I personally just want to be prepared and have a couple of hotel phone numbers in my purse just in case he isn't happy with the accommodations -- he doesnt' take crap too well. My family stayed at the Hampton Inn last time we were there (May/June 2007) and the ART was fine and I know what to expect. Thanks for your experiences.
