This resort is mentioned quite a bit for staying over the night before your cruise. I did a check and the rate is $139 - are there other hotels that I should consider, or are there ways to get a better rate? We will fly into Orlando, get a car and then turn the car in when we get to Port Canaveral - so we are flexible. Thanks for any suggestions.:bounce:

We booked a room at the Radisson for July 2004, for $89.00!! It was on their web page!!

We used the Visit Florida Ste. and got the 2 king bed suite for $109.00, and our room was very nice and clean!!!

Sometimes you can find "discount codes" for a better rate. Somebody on this board could probably tell you where to find a discount code. We stayed at the Radisson at the port when we cruised and it was nice because it's so close to the port. They have a free shuttle to and from the port also. Great pool too!
Good luck and have fun

go to www.Radisson.com - follow their prompts and once you receive the price page for Radisson at the Port, click on View All Rates at the bottom of the page - their special rates should show. We were able to get the $89 rate for August, 2004

I just did a quick search for you on expedia.com and based on 2 Adults/2children I could get a room at the Radisson for $74.00. per night. This rate is good through November. If you need me to post the link just let me know. I should have copied and pasted it but I forgot to.

Thanks everybody - I just booked it for $89 for the night. One more thing to check off the to do list. :D

Do I have to book the "cruise special" in order to get a shuttle to the port? What time do the shuttles run becuase I would like to get to the port early. I see every price ranging from 89.00-189.00 for the date we want to stay.

You can book the lowest price they are offering and still use the shuttle and parking. I think the first shuttle runs around 10:00 or 10:15 a.m. You need to make a reservation for the shuttle at check-in.

Actually that has changed, we made our shuttle ressie over the phone from home a few days before our cruise, and so did a couple of other families that was on our cruise. The first shuttle is scheduled to leave at 10:20, but we actually left at 10:10. Shuttle is free and so is the parking at the Radisson.

I too have heard 10:30 for the earliest shuttle... The port is closed until then???

Anyhow, I have also heard that if you want the early shuttle then you should check in as early as possible, as the shuttles fill up very fast! And, be there early that morning ready to claim your seat, as there have been stories of people without reservations just jumping on and taking others seats.

The shuttle situation at the Radisson is supposedly being improved with the addition of two shuttle vans.... (and hopefully a good system for the reservations)

I will be at the Radisson in a couple weeks, and will definately give a full report when we get back!

Check out roomsavers.com....there was a coupon on there for $79.00 room rate.....a fellow dis'er told me about this site...according to the coupon, it can't be used on a prior reservation (we are on 10-11 cruise) so I called the Radisson and explained about the $79.00 rate and asked the girl if I should cancel my prior reservation and make a new one and she just changed my rate to $79.00.

I booked a room in Asheville, NC over the Internet a couple of weeks ago for last weekend. I thought I got a great rate after doing a lot of research. Then unexpectedly I had to go up a day early and called to get a second night. Just out of curiosity I asked the rate...$79 verses the great Internet rate of $91 (most sites were $109). I cancelled my Internet reservation and saved $24 for both nights. Perhaps it pays to call directly?? By the way, I'm staying at the Radisson at $85 at night ("Internet Special"). I'll ask when I check in and find the rate to be $69, no doubt.

Heading out in three weeks!!!!!
