I got this place thru Priceline for our arrival day before heading to AKL for 11 days, read the reviews and am now worried... Would we be nuts to just book another place like All-Stars and eat the cost of the Worldgate?

It's only 1 night -- I'm sure it can't be so bad you won't be able to sleep.

We stayed there once for our entire vacation (it was called 'Celebration' a the time, I believe....) We found it to be very nice. Basic, but clean, and the pool was VERY cool - my sons still consider it their favorite pool, even after staying at WL and POR! My DH loved the hottubs and I thought the beds were SUPER!!:thumbsup2 I definately think as far as non-Disney hotels go it is quite nice (and if you ignored the Disney decorations at an All Star, I would consider the Raddison nicer.) Good luck w/ the decision and have a GREAT trip!

Isn't that an entirely different hotel?

Oh yes, you're right, sorry - for the mixup - I knew the Celebration one changed its name and thought this was it. I went to the web site now to be sure, and it looks nice too - sleep numbers beds, nice pool, etc. Well, goodluck either way.:thumbsup2

Stayed there once via a priceline "win." Did not get a SleepNumber room, but it was not that horrible. (Yes I complained to PL, because as it was not an updated, nicer room I did not get the "3 star" I paid for. Didn't get anything, but wanted my complaint on the record.) The room we had was older, worn but clean and roomy from what we could see; maids did a good job. For one night, I'd think you would be ok. FWIW.

What is the name of the Radisson at the gate of WDW? The one near Crossroads? It is a orangey/gold color?

We did the exact thing you are doing, one night there and off to Disney. We had the same concerns and were plesently surprised. The cabinets and furnishings had a crackle finish, some complaints we read were due to the "old, worn" appearance of the furnishings. We had a clean room with a frig, and microwave. The lobby was simple but we would stay again if arriving late and just needed a room for a night or two. I hope your stay is acceptable, as ours was.
