Hi All,

I just returned home y-day from our magical Disney Vacation. We stayed the first 3 nights at the Radisson Resort Parkway. We had originally booked the Entertainment rate of $78 a night for a garden view room, however with some recent discounts offered, I cancelled that reservation and rebooked the "Go" package which included free Breakfast and pool view room for $78 a night.

We had room 1406, which was on the 4th floor overlooking the main pool. The room we had was decorated in light wood furniture with yellowish and red bedcovers. The bathrooms are newly remodeled and have marble counters, floors and tile (very nice). The room we had was 2 beds (doubles, small - only downside) and offered a spectacular view of the pool and slide below. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated (main lobby) and the 2 main pools (one heated) were nice. Got VERY crowded on the weekend and at night. Breakfast was a nice touch, made to order eggs, pancakes, cereals, etc. There was a small playground for my 2yo. The hotel was literally a stone's throw away from the main gate for WDW. The hotel had LOTS of kids and could be noisy outside at times, however the hotel itself was better than we expected. We had a car and didn't use the shuttles. There were a few shops and grocery stores within walking distance.

I'd be happy to answer any questions.

What is the best way to get there from the Airport?

How close is it to the Premier Outlet Mall?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

We took the toll road towards Kissimmee from the airport. It took less than 25 minutes. You have to get on 4 West from the toll road ( I think it's called the Osceola parkway) and you'll see the hotel on your left. Make the next jughandle and it'll be your first left. It's very big, and pink, so you can't miss the place.

The premium outlets are only about one or two exits (east on rt. 4) away. We went there one day we took a rest from the parks. Take the exit for Buena Vista near the Holiday Sunspree and you can get in that direction.

There were lots of families there and the weekend was packed. On monday, the crowds were down. The pool at night can get noisy, but the view from our room was really nice. There were some people fishing in the pond (strange) and all types of people there....families, teens, young and old, all walks of life. It's not the ritz carlton but it was clean and comfortable. The amenities were above average and comperable to many Disney properties. I would stay there again.

Enjoy your visit.

ThisNewsletter mentions that you can get a free upgrade at the Radisson for a pool view. the link provides the info.

We stayed at the Radisson last year. It was VERY nice for the money. It's not a Ritz Carlton, but it has many features of a deluxe resort - all for a price below Disney's moderates! The breakfast was great too and very reasonable in cost.

people fishing--VERY strange :)

check www.mousesavers.com for other discounts at Radison--think it mentioned $59 for September! Not sure if that's even in our budget, but the place does look lovely in the descriptions

thanks, Hillbeans

UPDATE:
The $59 info is also in the NEWSLETTER link provided by the poster above me :)

FFerret - Well, the $59 a night would be a great rate. If you got the "Go" package which I got (probably for $10 more) kids under 10 eat free and you get a great breakfast which kept us full into the afternoon all 3 days we stayed. I know the breakfast for the 2 adults and my 2 year old would have cost around $20 otherwise.

We just got back from a week in WDW, 2 days we stayed at Radisson Parkway. It was as nice as the AKL that we stayed in for 5 nites ( savannah view-great ). The pool at Radisson was nice and convienent to the room 1606 with pool view and nice comfy kingsize bed.It was so close to the park that I may have to rethink where we will stay in future- always stayed in the park. Comtemporary, Poly, Disney Inn Fort wilderness and lastly Animal Kingdom Lodge. The radisson was as nice as any of these and at $63.. a nite. worth another visit.

Treehouser - Sounds like our trips were almost identical...we stayed at the same 2 hotels. I'm glad we stayed at the Radisson first however because once we went to AKL we loved it. I actually liked splitting our stay at 2 places, and didn't mind once repacking our things. I'd stay at the Radisson again for 2 or so nights before the AKL again. It's a nice place, and good for the pocketbook too. I've never stayed at a Moderate hotel, but would imagine the amenities at the Radisson compared quite well. We never used the shuttles to the park and liked having our car to drive to DTD and outside shops and restaurants to get a break from the park food.

Not sure if you can use it as a frig but you could call the front desk and ask: 407 396-7000.

Some people take collapable coolers. that might be an option.

Glad you had a great stay at Radisson Resort Parkway, but just wondering -- what road/roads did you use to get to WDW? Just trying to get a better idea of where this hotel is.

Thanks!!

We had town car service to /from the hotel so I'm doing this mostly from memory but I was amazed at how close it is to that main express way (I 4 ?) - you literally exit and go a couple of blocks and turn left at a traffic light (for Disney's Celebration resort you would turn right at this same light I think). The gates to Disney are just on the other side of the expressway.

It's like .4 mile from Disney's gates.they also have free shuttles that go to all the theme parks (Disney's and Universal and SeaWorld).

and if I'm reading this correctly it's off I-4 exit 64A (old 25A) in Kissimmee then left at Parkway Boulevard (1st light) approx 1/2 mile to Resort. Therefore, a hop, skip and a jump to WDW! Just take 192 straight to the gates! (Well just follow the signs!)

This is great! It means very close to everything! And if it's like any of the other Radisson's I've stayed at it will be AOK!

Thanks Hillbeans for your help. Can hardly wait for August to get here! I booked with the upgrade, let's see if I get it!

When I get back I can tell you how it compares to a moderate. We have stayed at the CBR before but looking forward to AKL!

Thanks again everybody

Yes, it's right off I-4 right outside the main gate of WDW. The hotel has 6 buildings and is pink, so it's hard to miss.

The room had a full-size safe, but the mini bar didn't have any room for any drinks. There's a small supermarket in the strip mall across from the hotel. I bought a $2.99 foam cooler which held about 8 drinks and we used that for the rest of the trip in the hotel and in the car. I think a rental fridge is $10 a day.

I hope you have as good an experience there as I have. I read a negative review on another trip board, however it sounded like the room was never serviced by the maid. We had a great stay.

Reading these posts makes me a lot!! less nervous about staying at the Radisson Parkway....always nervous about an unknown hotel. Reserved for sept 21-26 at the 59$ rate. Plan on purchasing cheap cooler for drinks and quick breakfast items.
Only concern is hotel shuttles to parks...not planning on rental car, nor planning on returning to hotel mid day. Want to see all 4 parks in 4 days.
Hope is possible in late sept.
anyone have experience with shuttles?? how busy? hoping not too full in sept.
also how busy is the breakfast buffet in am..how much time do we need to allow if we want to catch first shuttle to parks, i think its at 8:30.
thanks for your help,

KC

In answer to the question about the shuttle. We found it inconvient. Then again we're spoild having always stayed on property. DH is a Radisson employee so last December we decided to give the RP a try. Although I agree that it's a beautiful resort, I did not like being left at TTC and wound up taking a cab back to the hotel every night. We've always stayed abd DXL in the past and missed the ability to return to the hotel mid-day for a rest and change of clothes.

The $59.00 rate must be all booked up now; I tried several links and the best price right now for early October is $73.00 - still better than the CBM that I have booked now for $99.00/night.

Ok, I just saw where I missed the $59.00 by one day, it ends on October 2 and I need October 3, no problem.

ILUVDXL,
what was the rate for the taxi back to the hotel....i had already had in the back of my mind that we may need to take a taxi or two. I have see it posted $1 dollar per mile but that seemed low.

thanx for your help
