Last cruise, we stayed at the Radisson at the Port and it was great! This time it is showing no availability for the night before our cruise. :sad2:
So, now I need some suggestions of other good places to stay. I saw that there is a Holiday Inn Express and Suites nearby - anyone ever stayed there? I emailed to get a quote from Ron Jon, but I have a feeling that is expensive!
If anyone has any recommendations I'd appreciate it!
thanks!

I Suggest you call them direct..

and check back often..

Either that or you could stay at Ron Jon's

www.dcltribute.com has a list of places to stay..

We stayed at Ron Jon's in May before the repo cruise. It was in the same ballpark as the Radisson price wise. But I wouldn't wait for a quote you requested by email. I did that also...never got an answer. Call them direct to get a quote.

By the way..we really enjoyed staying there. Large, nice rooms, great pool and good food. Good luck and happy cruising!

By the way..Hi Peter.

In February 05 we stayed at the Best Western in Cocoa Beach. It was fine, not great but not bad either. It is, however, right on the beach, so if you're looking for beach time, it's a great place to stay.

It has a 10 minute shuttle bus ride to the cruise ships. I think that they charge $3 per person.

I'll tell you one fantastic thing about the Best Western and it has nothing to do with the hotel: it is attached to the Durango Steak House where my family and I had one of the best meals we've ever eaten -- they serve an amazing mesquite-grilled prime rib. We're going to make it a point to return there when we're backnext February.

Ditto to what Hygiene99 said. Call the resort directly. I went to several websites prior to booking our room at Rad and two of the major sites said the timeframe I had requested had no rooms available. I called them driectly and was able to book a room for the same low cost as it was online. Here is their phone number 321-784-0000. Remember people cancel ressies as well, if the resort tells you they do not have room at the inn ask them about a waiting list or which day of the week do they normally get the most cancellations. You can also go to www.cocoabeach.com for information on hotels. There are several hotels in the area that has cruise packaging, COmfort Inn and Suties has some type of cruise package. Good Luck.

Thanks everyone for the information. I did hear back from Ron Jon's and they do seem more reasonably priced than I expected. I will also check with Radisson directly to see if they are really booked full.

Those of you who have stayed at Ron Jon - how far is it from the terminal? One thing I like about the Radisson is that you can sometimes see the ships from the hotel when you wake up in the morning!
Thanks!

We, too, have stayed at the Best Western. They have a very nice pool, and being on the water was nice.

We're staying at the holiday inn this October. The price of a suite was cheaper than at the radisson, too, plus I get priority club points.

I just called and finally made reservations at Ron Jon Resort. There are 7 of us going, so it ended up being less expensive to get the 2 bedroom (sleeps up to 8) instead of 2 studios that sleep 4. I'm excited! It looks really nice and it sounds like it is right next to the port!
Thanks for all the information.

Curious to know how much your stay is?

The studio (4 people) was $150, the 2 BDR standard (8 people) was $240. So we saved by combining with my parents who are cruising with us and we split the 2 BDR villa.

We have 3 kids which makes it hard for hotels and cruise cabins! Luckily, my parents like to come along, so we book one child in their cabin and the 3 of them take turns staying with "oma and opa". We would have done the same in the hotel for the night before, but it worked out better for us all to share a 2 BDR villa! Can't wait!!

Please take pictures and let us know all about Ron Jon's when you get back from your cruise.

I will - I personally think they should have more pictures on their website! They have a lot of descriptions of the amenities, but not many pictures!

Has anyone else stayed there that might have more info on the pools, etc. The website says they have a water slide, lazy river, etc.
