We have booked the 2 nights before our cruise in Jan at the Radisson. There are 6 of us so we needed the suite. I was given the rate of $199 - does this sound reasonable? Also, anyone else stay there and have any comments on the hotel itself?Location? Rooms? Pools? Restaurants?

Thanks

We stayed there at the end of August. I have pictures of our suite on my web site. The link is below. Look for the DCL pages, then click on the "pre-cruise" link for the page with the Radisson pics. We really enjoyed our stayed there! :)

We had a room for a night, booked in the so-called cruise-package, which includes parking for the duration of the cruise and paid $89. The hotel is great, has a wonderfully themed pool, and they had a great breakfast buffet at $8.95 per person.

We didn't eat any of our meals there. The location is great to the port. The pool is absolutely fantastic! I don't remember what type of room we had, but it had a kitchenette & a whirlpool bath in addition to a shower which I really liked, and two separate sleeping areas. I liked the room very much, but it could have been kept up much better. The cushions on the couch/bed were stained, the paint was chipped & overall, the entire room just needed a 'makeover'.

We love Radisson at the Port. The pool is great, we found the rooms to be good size and very clean. Staff very helpful.

We did not eat in the restaurants. We love a restaurant right at the port called Grills. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner..lol, and yes..we eat there for all three. Breakfast is wonderful and reasonable. Lunch..can't get enough of the fresh seafood, sweet potato fries with those yummy dipping sauces. Dinner..oh my..the caribbean scalloped potatoes and more fresh seafood.
Just too good to pass up.

We went to Zachary's for dinner the night before, and then breakfast the morning of the cruise. I enjoyed breakfast a lot more than I enjoyed dinner because it's a Greek restaurant and there weren't a lot of choices for me, from their dinner menu. The food was good though, and the prices were decent.

Are any of these restaurants within walking distance! Grills sounds great! We won't have a car since we are getting dropped off at the Radisson.

We carried out pizza from the pizza place when we were there last September and ate it poolside. Very tasty! Also, there is a go kart/putt putt/arcade next door and we had some fun there after dinner. Both are easily in walking distance, as was the McDonalds across the street for breakfast. We had a regular room last time, but are trying a suite in two weeks! Let me know if you would like us to check out anything in particular and report back.

You can walk to Zacharacy's and the Pizza place but not to Grill's.

You can take a taxi to Grill's....

We have eaten there a few times and it is a great low-key Jimmy Buffet type of atmosphere....all the fishing boats dock their with their day's haul and it fun to watch them.

Also, the cruise ships come right past the restaurant and it's lots of fun to see everyone waving from onboard.

preb - Could you let me know what the layout of the suites are. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Family Suites by Disney and loved the Kids Suite. It was perfect for our family of 6! 2 girls got there own room, Mom and Dad got there own room and the other 2 girls got the living room pull out bed. Every room had there own TV and a big bathroom. So that is what I am sort of expecting when we go. We are also interested in Kennedy Space Center - how far is it away. Also, are you using the shuttle to the Port? When do you have to reserve your shuttle time?

Now for another off topic question - I see you are from Michigan. We are from Ontario so only a few hours from you. Are you flying or driving? We at the moment are driving - cannot find reasonable airfare for 6! If you are driving - do you take I-75 all the way down or head over to I-95 and if so where do you stop for the night? Any info on driving would be great - we have only ever taken I-75!

Thanks

Kelsey's (Kelsie's?) is the Italian place on the South side of the Radisson and it is very good (or it was 2 years ago lol). We had a kid's pizza, spaghetti, some type of sandwich for dh, etc. Although it was busy when we got there, we got a table pretty quick and our food came quickly as well.

Chasbos, We take I 75 to I 640 just out of Knoxville,TN.I 640 turns into I 40. Take I 40 to I 26. I 26 to I 95. W e normaly drive straight thru. What time do you plan on leaving ? Then I might come up with a place for you to stop. What time do you want to get to the Port by too.
PS. We are driving to the Port too. In Jan. Family of 5 .

We are planning on leaving Jan 20 (Thurs) in the morning and planning on arriving at the port Friday in the evening - we have late check in guarentee. That would be great if you could recommend a place to stay.
