Hi everyone, I've tried to search this one to no avail...
My kids have a tournament at the Radison World Resort Main Gate early next year and I'd like to research ahead to see if we should stay.
Is this a nice resort?
Can someone tell me where the "Main Gate" is located in relationship to WDW?
(The info. says "one mile from the WDW resort"....but I know that can be huge!)
Does anyone know if there is a Marriott nearby....
we are debating to use Marriott rewards points or this hotel's group rate of $99 per night. Does anyone know if that is a good price for January?

We would like to spend a couple of days at WDW, but since we're going in Sept. (didn't know about the tournament prior to making THOSE plans!:flower3: ) we thought we might do other things we haven't done before like Sea World, Kennedy Space Center, etc. so we want to be in a good location for all that too.
Thanks so much for all your help! :)

Just so you know there are a LOT of bad reviews on this hotel. Check out the reviews at tripadvisor.com and proceed with caution. The best reviews that I saw on this hotel were that it was "ok for the price."

Search for "Radisson Worldgate" and you will find it in the search results.

Good luck.

Thank you DaveClan! :)

I do love Trip Advisor and didn't go there first...
I think I'll look to use Marriott Rewards.
However, we will still be using the facilities for the tournament for a weekend, so if anyone else has firsthand info. about this resort, I would appreciate it since we'd like to know what to expect.

Do not know from January, but the only time we've been there has been via Priceline... this place routinely comes up as an [overrated] "3 star" for around $45. So for $99/night "group deal" you're better off finding something nicer. This hotel is on the west side of WDW, in the 192 area and as far as I know there are not any Marriott hotels close. Most are in LBV (World Center, Marriott Village, etc.) east of WDW, but it's not a bad drive. FWIW.

We stayed at he Radisson Worldgate 5/13-5/17. We read all the bad reviews after we had booked through priceline. We went expecting a bad place, but I'm here to tell you it was the opposite. We had room 435 which was great the room was clean nicely put together and the layout was good. We also got sleep number beds which were pretty neat. We have stayed at the BW, WL and off site condos. The Worldgate was just as nice as any condo we have done. plus the rooms have a fridge which is great for bringing your own water. As far as travel time, we made every Disney park in under 15 minutes from this hotel.
