I was there today (non EMH morning) and also Monday (EMH morning). Today, there was no separation at the rope for people getting FP. You just had to walk on the left and you would end up in the FP line. I was near the front of the rope today and waited under 10 min to get a FP with return time of 11:25am.
On Monday, the FP machines were dispensing FP for RsR during EMH. I got one around 15 min prior to "official" park opening with a return time of 10:45am.
I was there on this day as well. What was up with the crowds?! We flew in from Texas, and chose May 7-8 (Wednesday and Thursday) because it was projected (by several sites) to be a ghost-town, but ended up being about a 77/100 crowed index at both parks.
What really upset me is that cast members LIED to me when I asked them where I should go for the RSR fast passes. I was there before rope drop and wanted to avoid any chaos. I knew where the line was the day before, and was trying to stay in that general area. I feel really bad for novice visitors who don't know the drill. You ask Cast Members questions so you now what to do, to avoid getting trampled, etc. When they knowingly flat out LIE to you, that just makes me mad. They said they don't do lines anymore and to just wait on the street. So people were all huddled behind the rope, and then once the rope drops, all of those people have to try to back-track to get into the fast pass line over by the Carthay Circle restaurant, which they knew was going to be there all along, but lied to everyone.
Instead of lying, why can't they just be honest, and just have an organized line set up? So by lying, they are not only making people mad, because nobody likes being lied to, they are creating unnecessary chaos. People don't want chaos, nobody wants their kids to get run-over, In general, most people want things to happen orderly, and everyone would have been happy to just stand in line, so why on earth, do they think doing it this way is going to help anyone?!
