I just watched a TV show about what would happen if a mega thrust earthquake were to happen in Chile again (Chile had the worst earthquake in recorded history at 9.5 on the richter scale in 1960) and they said a tsunami wave would stretch across the world flooding New Zealand, Japan, west coast of the USA and other places. I said out loud "at least it doesn't reach us..."
