and what i hate is that my state was a northern state during the civil war and say how we respect all cultures and such.

but this state is VERY racist. i used to live in a southern state that was confederate...and they're more accepting.

one day that i remember really bugged me, this high schooler got on my bus and we have a family of 8 chinese children that ride my bus and it was crowded and he yelled "DA*N ASIANS ARE F***ING TAKING OVER IOWA!!!" it was SO rude.

You know what makes me laugh though. Most of the boys who are racist to black people in school listen to mainstream RnB. Funny thing? The majority of the main RnB artists are black.

You know what i truly hate though? The fact that some black people use the past against white people. For example an american college was letting less clever black students in over more clever white students for fear of being racist. When the president adressed that issue he was indeed called racist. Like hello it has nothing to do with your skin color, you just happened to be less clever. Or when you say something to a black person and they go it's because i'm black isn't it?. Um nope.

Sorry for my wording and my rant. There is no excuse for racism and i'm sorry it ever happened but in my opinion you can't use it to blag your way through life.

Yeah, I also disagree with the entire n-word usage, regardless of race.
If it's disrespectful for one race to say it, it should be considered disrespectful across the board.

Honestly, though, I rarely see racism around here.
Living right outside of NYC, it's pretty diverse here, and generally everyone is accepting of other cultures and races.

There's this boy in my class who loves to boast that he is german. Everyone in the class know's I'm Jewish so he like's to make jokes. One time he wasn't being funny, so I said go back to germany then! He replied, I'll send you back to the concentration camps.

I wanted to slap him so bad.

a friend of mine is Cuban. He speaks English and Spanish. He lived here for eight months trying to learn English. He's been here about five years. Sometimes he confuses words, or something like that. sometimes he has cultural differences than Americans. While he is very much American, he is also very much Cuban. His culture is in his mannerisms and daily life. I think its wonderful that he's come to another country and retains where he came from. But people make fun of him all the time for it. It makes me sick. I hate it so bad.

Whats disgusting though, most of the kids who rag on him so bad are Hispanics from Mexico. They came here too, so why aren't they (of all people) more understanding of him?

I hate racism.
It's mostly not too bad at my school, as we took what we were being told very seriously, and we don't find it funny. At all.

There's a few idiots, who can't seem to control their mouths, and if I thought I had anything over them, I would totally attempt to beat them up.
Because it's not only racist things they say that piss me off, but when they start saying rude things about someone because of the color of their skin.
Then I'm about to blow.

I try to be friends with everyone, I am colorblind.
So I sit next to this girl in history, and so I decided "she looks upset maybe I can talk to her, I sit next to her every other day, and I dont know her", so then I said "Hello" when coming into class and she said "Shut the _________________________________________ up white trash" "Im sorry, today must be a bad day" "No, I just dont talk to white skanks" "....I dont like being talked about like that, you dont even know me that well." "OH SO NOW YOURE YELLING AT ME BECAUSE IM BLACK!?" "What!? No thats not what I-" "Just shut up"

NEXT DAY

Someone else,
I was sitting doing my work "Ew look at her face" "...excuse me, If you keep bothering me like this im going to tell the teacher" so then they did so I went and told the teacher, then they called him up to talk about it and he immediately said

"SHE JUST HATES ME BECAUSE IM HISPANIC!"

...Guess who got in trouble more..


I always get in trouble when It comes to race, because my school tends to listen to any race except "white". No, im not saying that because Im racist, its true.

If there's an argument, they always go with the other race. ALWAYS.

We don't have a lot of visible minorities at my school.
They're mostly Asian (and of that, most of them are Korean).
There aren't many people who are of African decent. I could probably count them on my hand. People are really accepting round here, they don't make big deals out of race.

But thank goodness we don't have those kinds of problems where we live. Everyone is generally accepted for what race they are, so there aren't many issues.

The civil war was like, 200 years ago. IMO, life's changed a lot. Different people live here now. Like here in NJ, the govenor (don't know how to spell that) wanted to give money or something to African Americans because of the Civil War. I was thinking, why? Our generation didn't do anything.. If that all makes sense.

i live in a city where people from all over the world come. i can virtually guarantee that someone from every country in the world lives here. we are definitely not racist. people stick up for each other here all the time. it takes a lot of new kids time to accept that we are a very diverse community.

My friend's little brother is in 6th grade. He has a black teacher who literally HATES white people. One of many examples:

Teacher: *calls on an african american student to read from her journal*
Student: I don't want to.
Teacher: Okay sweetheart, that's okay. Greg, why don't you read? (lets just say Greg is my friend's little brother)
Greg: I don't want to.
Teacher: HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT ME LIKE THAT!!! THAT'S A CONDUCT CUT FOR YOU!!!
Greg: ... But you didn't make the other student read from her journal...
Teacher: OH SO NOW YOU'RE SAYING I'M RACIST????
Greg: Yes I am.
Teacher: I'M CALLING YOUR MOTHER!!

Keep in mind, my friend's little brother never gets in trouble and has all A's in every class except that one (which is English). Not to mention, other than journal writing, they've been studying black history month all year. And luckily Greg's mother wasn't mad at Greg at all.

But yeah, I think racism is a bad thing, no matter what. But one thing that tends to be overlooked is racism against white people, because some people think that's okay, when it's just as bad.

BUT.

I have Thai friends, and one of my best friends is Chinese.
Then we have alot of students from Germany and Asia that came for this year then are going back later.

Luckily our school is pretty great about it.
We have more problems like what everyne else said "You just hate me because I'm -insertcertainracehere-" When that's not it at all.
Of course there are some students that make racist comments.
My friend was telling me about this middle school kid making really racist comments towards her on the bus one day and she couldn't help but feel horrible, even though she tried to ignore him.
I was of course extremely angry about it. I hate racism.
