*Racing's in my Code* - A runDisney/PHM 2015 PTR

Great costume ideas! We're still thinking about ours. We're being cheap and also want to be comfy.

I'm there until the 25th and then back at work on the 26th... I won't be very useful for Thursday and Friday either.

Well the countdown is on! Only four short weeks until its go time!

TRAINING

This week started with 7 miles on Sunday. The weather was absolutely gorgeous at around 56 degrees. It was great to run outside for a change. Traveling through the neighborhoods, there were people flying kites, walking dogs, washing their car, playing at the playground... made me wish Spring would be here sooner rather than later.

Tuesdays and Thursday will be 5 mile maintenance runs until race day. This includes travel day on the 19th.

This Sunday I will be running a Super Bowl themed 4 Mile race. I'll run an additional 4-5 miles after that.


COSTUMES

All the costumes are coming together!

Vanellope (Princess)
My tutu came in last week. It is amazing! Shout out to Race Junkie for my custom piece.



My accessories were also delivered last week. Again, absolutely amazing. The tiara is quite heavy so I am going to have to find a way to tack it to my head. I am afraid it will bounce for 3.1 miles. Shout out to Custom Random for the detailed pieces.



Pocahontas
Mom's tutu has come in and she has finally found brown leggings and a shirt. She finished her necklace this weekend and is now working on the art Pocahontas has on her arm. She is using felt and will just use a couple of stitches so the shirt can be salvaged afterward.



Cinderella and Rapunzel
My aunt has been working feverishly these two costumes. As mentioned before, she actually has talent and made these skirts herself. I even found my Pascal plush for Lindsey to run with.

I wanted to do a referee costume but I don't have a shirt and don't really want to spend any more money than I have to at the moment. A guy at work is supposed to bring me a Panthers jersey so I will just throw a black dri-fit underneath and go. The best part is that there is tailgating afterwards.

I am excited about the costumes too! I can't wait! I bought the extras to jazz up my shirt and will hopefully finish it in a couple of weeks. Still waiting to hear about my half marathon costume though.. hoping it ships soon.

2 Weeks and Counting!

Two weeks from today, I will be headed back H*O*ME! I can't believe it is almost here!

TRAINING

As promised, I got my maintenance runs in before the Super Run 4 Miler on Super Bowl Sunday. I know I had mentioned just wearing a jersey to this race but the fun runner in me just couldn't do it. I found this referee shirt on Amazon and after using my points towards the purchase, it was only $16! I also went to Party City and grabbed a whistle for $2.00, which was paid for with change out of my car. I already had everything else so all in all, a cheap costume. I had a lot of great interaction on the course which made it even more fun. Downtown Charlotte has a lot more ups and downs than I realized. Overall, finish time was 42:37. My Garmin had trouble locating me at the beginning of the race so I didn't get to track the whole thing. Has anyone else had that problem?



After the race, I drove back home and got an additional 6 miles under my belt. This is the most distance I am going to run prior the race.
As for this week, I ran my five miles on Tuesday with some new pre-workout my friend had me try. I could get up and go using that! I bought 2 pounds on Amazon yesterday. After another 5 miles tonight, I will finish up Saturday/Sunday with 8 miles.

COSTUMES

I haven't started on my 5K top yet. I hope to do that this weekend. However... my half marathon costume from iGlow Running came in this week!! I am so in love with it and it fits perfectly! I had her custom make this shirt but won't reveal the special part quite yet..



A few months ago, I had bought my Vanellope hair pieces from FreakShowFollies on Etsy and loved them. But now with the costume here too, I love them even more! I can't wait to put the whole thing together!!





MORE FUN STUFF

Last week, our Magic Bands arrived!! They were shipped to my parents house in TN so I haven't seen them in person yet (Mine is Green). Mom will bring them down with her. I bought a couple of decals for my band that I won't be able to apply until I get there. Also, my Magical Express tags arrived, also to my parent's house... Mom has shipped them to me so once I receive them, the true packing will begin! I have costuming things and a couple of outfits thrown in the suitcase but I haven't spent any time dedicated to packing.

That referee costume is awesome! It's amazing what you can do combining a few cheap pieces with stuff you already have.

And the Vanellope shirt is perfect! The whole outfit looks great!
