Last year I did the 10K portion of the Air Force Marathon in Dayton, Ohio and notices that for the 10K and half marathon it had very lenient pace requirements.

10K - 4 Hour time limit or an almost 39 minute mile (in fact 3 people finished in over the time limit)

Half Marathon - 6 Hour time limit or a 27.5 minute mile (The slowest people last year finished in about 5 hours)

After seeing those and reading about alot of people getting worried about being swept at Disney, I thought it might be useful if we could share information about relatively large races that the average person training for Disney could use as a training race where you could experience a "big race start", judge your current training progress, while knowing you wouldn't need to worry about the the clock.

So, What other race out there do people know of with lenient pace requirements?

The Richmond Marathon, my very first one, has a 7-hour time limit. That's pretty generous for a marathon these days.

Honolulu Marathon has NO time limit!!!!!!! It's on the secound sunday in december.

Oklahoma Memorial Marathon and Half Marathon. The course has closed roads for 6 hours but is supported for 8 hours!

Palo Duro Canyon Trail - 20K, 50K, 50 mile has a 12 hour limit. Although a trail run, it is beautiful and worth the effort.

A local race company here in Vegas called Calico Racing puts on excellent smaller races with generous time limits. I have done every one of their events. The courses are challenging but scenic. Medals and finish line food are always top notch.

Spacecoast Half Marathon course is open the entire time the Full is open. I think it gives you 7 hours or so to finish. Nice local race and the oldest Marathon in Florida!

The Portland Marathon has no time limit, although they do change the route slightly after 8:00. No half marathon option on that one, though.
