Races in January

This will be our first time visiting in early January and our girls are interested in participating in the races. Two want to do the 5K and the youngest the mile. I was hoping someone has experience with these and could answer a couple questions. Is it super competitive or can someone compete with little experience? They run a little at home but are far from advanced. Our youngest can easily walk a mile, I'm not sure about running. Thanks

The races aren't super competitive but they do fill up quickly. Especially the 5ks, so make sure that if they are sure they want to do them that you sign up on the day that registration opens!

You may want to follow the 2020 Marathon thread in the runDisney Forum. The shorter races, like the 5k, tend sell out quickly. RunDisney is notoriously bad about sending out email reminders or updates.
