Tracy, I have already sent you one wish of encouragement but I am always up to send you another! I hope you have a fantastic race with an awesome finish!!!

Bryan

Good luck Tracy!!! Can't wait to hear all about your race...Miami is only 4 hours away for me...maybe I can add this to my list next year!

I've already wished you good luck all over the place but one more time - GOOD LUCK RACEY TRACY.

:cool1: :cheer2: Go WISHers, you all are awesome!!:cheer2: :cool1:

oh yeah it's just me.
THANKS to everyone for the cheers. I put my orange shoes laces on, my d-tag chronotrack thing (not using chips), layed out my WISH shirt, WISH hat, capris, charging camera battery, gel, sports bean, socks, shoes, etc.
Race starting time is 6:15am EST. I am in the back corral so will probably take me about 7-10 min to get to the starting line. The start is right in front of the Miami Airlines Arena where the Miami Heat plays basketball.

Go Tracy! Have all kinds of fun and enjoy the event!

I look forward to your report.

:cheer2:

Have fun Tracy, we're cheering for a new PR! Sub-3, I predict it!:thumbsup2

Hey all, I'm done!!!

Done with the race that is. Was a gorgeous 57degrees this am while waiting for it to start. Race was sold out with aprox 15,000 racers. About 13,000 doing the Half ans the rest doing the Full. Starts at the American Airlines Arean (where the Miami Heat plays) It is open in the AM so you can go inside and use the restrooms and chill out before heading to your corrals if you want.

Taking a right and then a left you come upon South Beach. NIce views of the ocean, clubs and hotels. Nice art deco buildings.

Ginanni Versace's House on Miami's South Beach. He was shot to death on the steps after a morning walk be a serial killer.

Was doing very well at this point. Was about 5 miles into it and doing anywhere between 13:50-13:35 miles.

Down Washington Avenue near the Miami Beach Convention Center. (again, did this on Friday)

Next around the side of the Miami Beach Golf Club. Still hanging in there. Had a great breeze today coming off the water.

Last bridge on the Venecian Causeway and this is when I started to slow down and then out of nowhere I get a cramp in my left side.
I am telling you that I have never experienced a cramp in my side before and couldn't figure out what I had done or was doing to cause it. I stopped taking anything from the water stations, plus in that regard I was doing well. Just slowed down a bit. My right foot of course started acting up on the ball of the foot area. This is about mile 11 that all of this starts.

About mile 12.5 you split off from the FUll Marathon and almost there.!!!!!!!

The last .60 I tried to speed up as I wanted to do just as well as WDW, but just cwasn't gonna happen.
IMG_3045.jpg

Me and my medal. Got on the MetroMover to go back to the van - Mom and Dad came to pick me up.

The race was great, perfect weather and waterstations were about every mile or so. Medal is the spinning palm!!
IMG_3055.jpg

RIght now as I sit here - my two toes, (the ones next to the big ones) are not happy with me, the ball of my right foot is not happy with me, other than that thing are good. Sat in the pool for 15 min when I got home. (temp of pool is about 62) I wish I could get feet and toe replacement surgery. I got a small blister on my left heal at WDW but was nothing and now I have one under that one.
I just kept thinking about Jeff who said I would get a sub 3 hours. I was thinking about it at the start and just thought - ok I will try for that. Around mile 11 I knew it was not going to happen. I did PR the course, but did about 1 min slower that 2 weeks ago at WDW. Time on the Garmi was 3 hours 3 minutes and 24 sec.

I got alot of comments on my WISH shirt, esp the back of it. I think I represented the WISH well.

Sorry the post was long,
Tired Tracy

Tracy,

WOW! What a report! I hate hearing about the cramp. It sounds like that was the beginning of your hinderance. And then your feet. (That sounds a lot like what happened to me at WDW.) Otherwise, it sounds like most of the race was a lot of fun and your time was still really good.

I agree! You did represent the WISHers really well!!

Bryan:cheer2: :cheer2:

Tracy- you definitely flew the flag wonderfully for WISHers today. Brilliant report and fantastic effort. I loved seeing the photos too, felt like we were part of your journey. Didn't like the cramp bit or sore feet bit tho- can we have a happier middle bit next time :rotfl:

I hope you're very proud of yourself- so soon after WDW too :thumbsup2

Great job Tracy. You did awesome - especially after just doing the 1/2 just 2 weeks ago. I haven't even gotten back into the swing of things - I can't imagine doing a 1/2 already.

Tracy: Thanks for a very picture-esque RR. I just love being able to visualize part of your experience. I'm especially fond of your expression at about mile 11. It tells us everything we need to know about your struggles. (I look like that the entire time.) It makes your finish all the more sweet, you WARRIOR woman, you!

You had a great time, trust Garmi, and I hope you are pampering those tootsies of yours! You deserve the medal and whatever reward you decide on! :cool1:

Awesome race and report, Tracy!

I love the bling and I think I may try to fit this one on my schedule for 2010!!!
