Oh wow, thank you! I'm packing right now for my trip/race in Big Bear Lake. (It's a 3 1/2 hour drive from Vegas, or 5 hours with my two kids :lmao: ) I'm super excited to do this race since it's where my parents live and it will be the first time my family has seen me run. Big Bear is also where Olympic runner Ryan Hall is from. I guess his dad will be speaking at the expo.

Good luck to you, Dave!

Go Casey and Dave and anyone else who picks up a race this weekend!!

GO WISH TEAM GO!!!!!

I am doing a local "comeback" 5K tomorrow. I just registerered for it on last Friday and forgot to post here. :headache:

Casey, hope your race went well! Dave, good luck on Tuesday!

I did a 10K today, the Lewis & Clark run in Weston, MO. The trail follows along part of the trail they used through this area. (Last week, my race was at the origin of the Santa Fe, California & Oregon trails - I am ALL about the history races! ;) ) They had little signs along the course with trivia about the Lewis & Clark expedition (it cost $38,000 and was budgeted at $2500!)

Another nice small race, under 200 again. Gorgeous morning, about 58 degrees and a little foggy. The race was started by an old man in period costume firing a musket - awesome!

The course was an out & back on a really nice trail - smoothly paved, lots of trees, overlooking the river. Very pretty, especially with the fog in the trees. But as usual, it was kind of hilly! I should just realize that almost ALL races around here have some rolling hills. This one had 2 tough spots - a decent little hill with a curve right at the top. As soon as you turn the curve, another hill twice as long! Then right at the turnaround was a long downhill immediately followed by a long uphill. Make the turn, and you get the long downhill and uphill again!

I finished in 1:03 - eh, that was fine. I'd love to break 1 hr, but it's no big deal, I'll get there eventually.

Oh, and I got the absolutely most stupid running injury EVER! I was stepping into the portapotty before the race and it had industrial strength springs on the door - it SLAMMED into my ankle! How ridiculous is that?! So I have a little scrape and bruise on my ankle bone. Also some pain from the antibacterial gel I put on it - HA!

Have a good week, all!
