Good luck everyone. :cheer2:
And, a special wish to my teammates: Jackie, Matt and Vicky. You'll all do amazing. :cheer2:

Good luck to all WISHers running/walking/biking/crawling this weekend.

I did the Soaring Wings half today and I was also the first leg of a two-person relay team. My DH, Steve, and I won first place in the relay - walker division. Woohoo!

Thanks all. I finished tenth in my age group, 174 I believe overall, with a 1:46. It was cool running around the daytona speedway and getting to walk the on the track pre and post race. The bridge to the ocean was not too bad, but a head wind of approaching 30 mph and gusts faster made the way out hard, but back had a nice tail wind. The finish was same spot as on the track. I did win best nascar themed costume and got 150 gift card for the richard petty driving experience. Overall, cool race.

Congrats to you and your hubby, escape! :yay:

Dan, that DOES sound cool. I had no idea there was a run there. Um, I did one where we parked in the lot of a raceway before being shuttled to the starting line, is that almost as cool? :lmao:

We parked on the infield, right where they have the cars arrive and awards were at victory lane. Next year is the 5th anniversary, so hope they have a new medal.

What was your costume? I also did the Daytona 1/2 but am much slower than you so you probably passed me as I was heading towards the beach and you were coming back. This was my first non Disney 1/2 and I really liked it.

I ran the Magnuson Park Halloween race.
I did the 5K with my sister and her friend. We all dressed in matching tutu's and Mickey ears. I wore the same outfit that I did for the Princess and Disneyland 1/2 marathons. I'm pretty sure I'm ready to retire that outfit now. :rotfl:

I used this race as an introduction to running for my sister and her friend. They have been walking. But I'm trying to get them ready for the Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon (their first 1/2) and they want to have plenty of time for water/potty breaks and pictures with characters. So I started them off with 1 minute jogging and 2 minutes walking. I was originally planning on doing 45 seconds jogging and 2 minute walking, but they were fine going a little longer.

They did great! They were pretty tired by the end. But happy that they were able to keep it up.
They did the 5K in 44 minutes which is about a 14 1/5 minute mile. They were very happy about that as well.

We will be running this race again, but doing the 10K on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

When they were done, I decided to run the 5K again for time. I did it in 24:15 and was 25th overall. :yay:
