Vic,

I have not posted for a long time, but would you please add me for
Sept. 26, State Farm United Way 5K race.

Thanks,
Stan

Hello and back from my lil 5K this morning....

The Sickel Cell Sprint. A 5K run/walk event at a park near my house, Brian Piccolo Park.
Got up around 6:20am, left my house around 6:45pm and rode my bike to the park. It's only about 1.6 miles to the park so I considered that my "warm-up". Checked in, made pit stop and over to the start line. Race started at 7:15am.
I finished with a time of 36:26 which is PR for me. Beat my last time by 18 seconds!! :woohoo:
Not too bad for not being sidelined a bit with shin splints on my right leg for about 2 months. My jog/racewalk intervals went fine, but I am thinking about changing the interval times.
So all in all a nice local race. Was humid out so early this am, but it had rained over night.

Have great races everyone!

Just got back from the State Farm United Way 5K. Ran it in 25:41. My wife also ran/walked it. The race started at 7:00am, it was 59 degrees and foggy. The temp was perfect for a run. The race is held inside a park, so there were no traffic issues. And, the race was for a good cause.

Starting in November I will ramp up my training 2010 WDW 1/2 marathon. We already have our airfare purchased and our hotel room booked. Starting to get excited already.

I ran the Brixx 10K in downtown Charlotte this morning. It was the first race I have run in almost 2 years. I finished in 42:21 avg pace of 6:48. This is my watch time and isn't official but I am sure it is close. The results aren't up yet. The weather was great. The course was very hilly but I am running the Charlotte marathon in December in the same area so I better get used to it. I was hoping for a sub 42 but I am happy. All the race predictors show I still have a shot at a sub 3:20 marathon. I have been putting the miles in. Average 70+ MPW the last few months so it will be close.

I met another WISHer at the starting line. I was so nervous I don't remember her name, lots of butterflies at the time. I think it was Kristin/Chis tine? I hope her race went well.

This was also my first race as a WISH Team member so that was fun. Here is a picture of me before the race.

SUNDAY RACE CREW!!!! Your up next!!! Woohooo!!!! Good luck!!!! Have tons of fun!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Expedition Everest should be on it's way so I will send pixiedust thoughts out to the universe since I highly doubt they'll be checking from the course  Hope everyone doing the EE5K is having a GREAT time tonight!!!! Woohooo!!!! :woohoo:

Goodness, I kept thinking NEXT weekend was Everest. But instead it will be the 1st Races in October! WOW! It's flying!

Just finished my first marathon yesterday at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront run. I didn't quite hit the wall but I did feel myself start to get weighed down around 32km and I was in serious depression until around 37km out. Stiff as heck today (took the day off school) but overall I'm really happy with it. My fiance stood outside all morning after getting up at 4:30am to watch me finish, god bless her.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend of running.
