Race for the Taste a good event?

Just noticed we'll be at WDW during the Race for the Taste 10K. Considering running with DD12. Interested to hear about the quality of the race, pros and cons.

I think it is a fun race. Nothing too special about it. There are a couple water stops along the way. You run from wide world of sports thru mgm and then epcot. Then there are food stations at the end (I didn't care for any of them last year). I really love the medal tho - it is a chef's hat with a fork, spoon and knife dangling from the bottom. And, well, I'm all about the bling.

I'm also interested in everyone's opinion on this race. We will be there during that time, but I'm trying to decide if I can do a Party for the Senses the night before and still do this race. If it's a fun run/walk then I'm definitely up for it.

I did it in 06 and it was cool. It was my first Disney race so I was all jazzed up. Overall I would call it a good race. We ran through the Lights, Motors, Action and got on the big screen. That was neat.

There was a negative though. I didn't have a car so to get my packet took about 2 hours and a few bus transfers. To get to the race, I had to get a taxi and with road closures we had to go around, it cost $20 to go from ASMo to the sports complex. I should have run to the start.
