Depends on how well his glasses fit. I wear contacts to the park and wear a pair of Oakley sunglasses that won't fall off no matter how hard I shake my head. I've worn them on every single outside ride I've ever been on, no problems. Have him stand up, bend at the waist so he is facing the ground, and shake his head back and forth as hard as he can. If the glasses stay on through that, he should be fine. Or just get one of these: Croakie Eyeglasses Retainer

I always put my daughter's glasses in my bag right before we get on the ride and give them back as soon as we get off. That way she is not worried about them.

If the glasses fit properly, they probably aren't going anywhere, but an elastic strap for them can help with peace of mind. It's not much fun to worry about something as essential as eyeglasses.

My son has severe farsightedness and Esotropia and can't see without his glasses. We get the straps that have the sliding adjuster on the back and he has ridden dozens of coasters without any issues! I highly recommend them. We got ours at the Walmart glasses lab for around $5.00.

I am prone to motion sickness and I've discovered asking to wait for the front car does wonders. It allows me to ride it multiple times before starting to get nauseous.

I think it's s combination of avoiding the position of where my eyes are attempting to focus around the seat in front of me (sort of like riding in the back seat of a car can make me nauseous on turns), and the much better breeze on my face throughout the entire ride that keeps me more comfortable and makes the ride much more enjoyable.

I also plant my feet hard in front of me and push back hard on the head restraint the entire time. Trust me, it not only helps avoid the headache
later, it's also a little more comforting when you're rocketing into an inversion that you can definitely see from the front car.

I hate roller coasters. I am a control freak. Coasters take my control freak away. Nuff said.

I finally rode R n R after two hours of a panic attack. I have ridden it over and over again. I still get anxiety every time. I like to sit towards the front. I lock my legs in with my head pushed back. The first part (for me) is the worst. I always count to 3 and the rest of the ride is really awesome. I have now ridden every ride except TOT. I really want to try it but hate that drop feel.

EE was so easy for me. I was upset I waited so long to ride it. Space mountain is fine but I like to sit up front. Splash mountain is also fine. If you look as you drop, you can't feel it.

About the glasses-I have glasses and I rode RnRC twice and they stayed on fine. I've also been on Manta, Kraken, and all the coasters at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. They stayed on fine. TBH, I didn't even think about them falling off, lol...

To the OP: Of course you'll SURVIVE the ride! Will you like it? That I don't know since I don't know you. The only even remotely "scary" part is the launch, and even that is honestly not scary at all to me. Just 'Wow, this is cool!!' Keep your head back on the launch so you don't get banged around. It's better in the front row IMO-it's more "windy" and I just like it better there. Yes, you do go upside down 3 times, but you can barely notice it. Just try it, and if you hate it, don't ride it again. My scaredy-cat sis got on it, and while she didn't like it all that much, she didn't freak out or anything.

More comparisons to EE? I hate the backwards curve and will not repeat that.

EE is the most unpleasant coaster I've ever ridden. I did it once and was miserable the whole time. Only Mission Space on the intense color was worse...though it's close.

I hate EE because there's nothing to hold on to and I NEED to hold on to something on a coaster - I need that security - I love all the other coasters in Disney but they all have something to grab and EE doesn't. And yes, I can't agree with you more how awful it felt to be going backwards at those speeds with nothing to hold on to. Horrible.

But I love all the other coasters.

I'm not a coaster wimp but I hated Space Mountain and didn't care for RNRC. It wasn't too scary but the overhead restraint kept knocking against the sides of my head and it wasn't comfortable.

No, RnRC just has the over-the-shoulder-restraint. You feel (and are!) planty secure though.

I am a long time coaster wimp. But I have tried all the coasters at the World and survived them all. This coaster was the last on my WDW coaster bucket list.

RnRC is a very thrilling ride and the twists and turns can make you dizzy or feel nauseous and disoriented. However - the track for RnRC is VERY SMOOTH compared to Space Mountain, so if you can handle SM, you can handle this attraction.

What kept me off this ride for some time was the inversion, you do go upside down. But you're safe. This coaster moves fast and the track is smooth so the inversion does not even feel like you're upside down, in fact the forces you are moving under, you have the sensation you're being pressed down into your seat, and not like you're dangling upside down.


Just pay attention to the signs - Like with any thrill ride, if you have back or neck problems, or a heart problem, or suffer easily from motion sickness (like it can ruin your whole day), then just don't ride this attraction.

Nobody is keeping score whether you ride this or not, it's all up to you and your decision. Remember it's your vacation!

This sounds like me. Though I have ridden ToT once - and only once. But it's RnR that is my last ride left to ride on my WDW bucket list. I will ride it in March!

I'm not a huge fan of coasters, but I think Rock N Rollercoaster is the smoothest and least scary I've ever ridden. The launch is a little intense, but after it gets going, it's really not scary at all. I didn't even realize there was an inversion.

Being a bigger guy, btw, I absolutely hate Space Mountain. the restraint on that ride feels like a punch right below the belt every time the ride jerks (which is often). I will never ride SM again, but I would ride RNR all day every day when in DHS.

You never know unless you try. I have motion sickness issues, but I've gone on R'N'R and have been just fine.

Ask for a seat closer to the front for your first ride. I couldn't keep my head from bouncing around in the back.
