QVC is still a thing?

I wish Facebook marketed differently and yes I know just how they are choosing to market lol. The vast crap my mother-in-law has bought from FB ads is ridiculous....seriously. Most of it is crap stuff, likely overpriced for what it is, makes no sense on buying. Like for Christmas as a stocking stuffer mother-in-law got us all these weird metal julienne slicers and the packaging has no english on it just Chinese characters....Thankfully she hasn't really gotten into the home shopping thing because she'd be spending like crazy. Her thing is Amazon and FB but at least on the Amazon front she's not as bad as I think she would be if she watched QVC or HSN all the time.

I think ads on the internet hocking Chinese garbage is a bit different than QVC or HSN. Those 2 are legitimate retail selling legitimate products.

Any time I've paused on QVC when channel surfing, what was on was outrageously expensive compared to buying anywhere else. If you go to the website however, it seems it is a viable alternative to other online shopping sites.

My comment was comparing the addict comment the poster made as well as the overpriced part. That's all . Generally speaking yes what you buy through QVC or HSN will have better quality control.

There is only one channel my Mom "needs" and knows the number to punch in on the remote.....QVC. She watches In the Kitchen with David. When I visit her, I'll watch his show for comedic value.

For a while in college I had a part-time job as one of those operators who were standing by to accept phone orders for questionable products pitched on TV.

When I was growing up, I remember my mom staying up to watch QVC and see what "Today's Special Value" was going to be. I don't remember her ever buying anything from them, and I don't think she really watches QVC anymore.

After I got married, my mom would tell me the life story of the different sales people on there. "Oh, Kathy's really nice, her sister is having a baby, and ...." It was like a non-soap opera.
