Hi everybody havent been here for a long time but I am back in planning mode for 2005 so have been lurking again, just looking for a bit of expert advice.

I have just got a quote for 2 adults and 1 child at the carribbean beach resort , flying with virgin with disney passes included and car hire for a week flying on the 1 may 2005 for the grand total of £3300.00!

Is this good and should I snap this up as it is a limited deal?

Try pricing it yourself, first via the Virgin Holidays website..that will give you a guide price. Next, try pricing it through Expedia...try different combinations like flight only or flight/car and see what you get. These options only take a few minutes to price up and you can see if you are getting a good deal!!

TV Travel shop always seems expensive to me, but your deal sounds OK...is that 2 weeks?? The most appealing part is that includes the Hoppers, which can work out pretty expensive sometimes.

Good luck!

Sorry , forgot to mention it is for two weeks, and also included transfers and transportation to all the parks for the first week, the second week we are hiring the car which they will drop off at the hotel!

Just been over to Virgin as Im pricing up myself for next year!! And 2 weeks staying at Port Orleans Riverside (didnt get the CBR as an option), car for 2 weeks as well) comes out at £3257 (flying May 1st). Not sure if the Virgin package includes your hoppers at WDW hotels as standard (I think it does) so you would need to check that.

Be wary of "limited deals" from TV Travel shop, I think you can do better than that.

thanks for your advice, I think I'm going to visit virgin and work out all my options, I'm a bit limited because hubby dosent want to keep driving so he can have a drink or two!!
So we are either going to have to stay on site or within walking distance of downtown disney!

Why not split you stay over more than one hotel? I have done this and it is much easier to do than you might expect.

Stay on site for a week, take advantage of Disney transport (and the the drink at Downtown Disney) then obtain the rental car and try another hotel?

As for your husbands desire for a beer or two - you must go the Boardwalk. Big River has a micro-brewery and the food is good too.

I'm like your hubby but we've always had a car for the 2weeks. Staying on site and using the WDW Transport is great and affords a little relaxation (hic), plus having the freedom of choice with the car always available is good too.
Generally, we would use WDW Transport early in the morning to go to and from the parks, then the car during the afternoon, shopping etc. and then most evenings back to WDW Transportation.
We found that the costs of transport to and from the Airport worked out as much as (if not more) than the car for an additional week.
Good luck with your pricing.
Chris

Try USAirtours, they were considerably cheaper than the Virgin brochure last year.
