Quitting a job - vacation earned

Since OP's problems have been solved, we can argue over words lol. It technically means either.

bi·month·ly
ˌbīˈmənTHlē/
adjective
adjective: bimonthly; adjective: bi-monthly
1
.
occurring or produced twice a month or every two months.
Thank you for setting me straight Ms. Dictionary.

Though as someone who has worked in HR & PR for over 15 years, I have never heard of bi-monthly as meaning twice a month. And just to clear bi-weekly is every two weeks, not twice a week, nor technically twice a month.

Good for you, hope all goes well at your new place. Sounds like you might want to write this company off for future employment since they gave you such a hard time.

I tried the definitive source - OED - but I'm not paying $30 to define one word :D, so
Merriam-Webster (For more than 150 years, in print and now online, Merriam-Webster has been America's leading and most-trusted provider of language information.):
Definition of bimonthly
  1. 1: occurring every two months

  2. 2: occurring twice a month : semimonthly

THANK YOU!! I don't care for anything from them for me leaving except respect as I have done nothing but given them that. And yes, they are squeezing whatever they can out of me in the meantime..........

Probably a good place to be leaving then!

Oh I won't need this place for the future. I don't have many years left of working anyway :)

Again in PAYROLL I have NEVER seen bi-monthly as meaning twice a month. As above it is always semi - monthly.

Weird. Have never heard it called that. Weekly, bi- weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly are the only terms I have ever seen for payroll.

I take that back - I must have been thinking of somewhere else. I think my mortgage company recently offered me a bi-monthly payment, which is where I heard it. Here is what ours says "Paydays are biweekly, every other Friday."

I stand corrected...long week and all ;)

I"m sure that HR has adopted a standard convention to ease communication. It doesn't negate the other definition in casual use though.
