After a 2 month stall and a few too many bathroom issues, I decided that I needed to try something new.

I'm staying low carb because I feel so much better when I eat this way, but I've added oatmeal in the morning and a bit more fruit. I'm also watching my fat intake more. Lo and Behold, I lost 3 pounds my first week after making the switch. :)

It feels a bit weird eating the oatmeal (16 net carbs per serving), but the new plan is doing the trick for now. :)

Hi Jen!

It sounds like you're eating the South Beach way with some whole grains and lean meats. I am a definite believer in finding what works for you. Personally I do a combo of what works with Atkins and what works with South Beach and my preferences. It works for me and sounds like your new plan works for you! Keep it up!!!! :)

Definitely sounds like you're headed more toward South Beach. I've found quite a few people who actually ate TOO low carb on Atkins for a long period and stalled until they started adding some low-impact carbs (like oatmeal) back into their menus.

Sounds like you've found something that works! Congrats on your 3 pound loss! :sunny:

That's GREAT! I too am a big believer in finding an eating plan that is right for you.....and aren't you lucky ~~~ you found yours!! :hyper: Just goes to show that every BODY is different, and what works for one may not work for another. Thanks for letting us know about your positive switch! ::yes::

Congrats on your 3lb loss. That is fabulous. I so agree that you have to find what works for YOU!

Thanks for your support everyone. :) It's funny how guilty I felt eating that oatmeal for the first time. I was so conditioned that it was bad! I haven't read the South Beach book and I don't know if I will. I'm inputting everying into fitday and eventually I'll know exactly how everything affects me. Trial and error.

Thanks again.!

I am like Lisa....I mostly follow South Beach, but lean towards Atkins sometimes. My plan is working for me also. You have to do what your body needs and sometimes you just have to try different things to figure it out. Good for you!

I am glad that you are still trying to stay with some form of eating healthy. It is certainly difficult, but well worth the healthy lifestyle.

There's nothing that will stop me from eating healthy. I don't want to regain anything I've lost and I still have quite a way to go.

66 pounds gone and the other 49 will be joining them soon!

I too am on SBD, and lean towards Akins. However, I have continued to lose weight and occassionaly eat those low-impact carbs. Keep doing what's best for you.

Good for you. As long as you find a way of eating that works for you, that is the key to success.
