A thread for the cat lovers here. Tell us a story about the quirky stuff your purr baby does.

Here's mine. Bijou is obsessed with shipping supplies. I sell on Ebay and Etsy, so have an area for this. She makes a trail every night of shipping supplies. I wake up to a line of bubble wrap, envelopes, air pillows from the bedroom to the shipping table at the other end of the house. When I actually ship something, she goes nuts. I have no idea why.

Anyone else?

Oh, mine is pretty insane. She paws at the window every time I come home (it's adorable). She "hunts" the same feather toy on a stick every night, and drags it to the bed or as far as she can manage. I put it back where it was every day. She has no tail, so he's pretty clumsy for a cat and will sometimes miss a jump, much to her embarrassment.

We've got two cats, two weird things. Whenever the garbage truck comes, one cat stops whatever he's doing (or wakes from a dead sleep), runs to the front window to sit and watch intently, then goes back to whatever he's doing. The other cat only drinks from the water faucet in the bathroom, so even if we go away, we have to leave the water dripping. We always tell the pet sitter not to turn off the dripping faucet in the bathroom.

Our older boy is a cat I inherited when my cousin passed away. He is a confirmed "bachelor cat" in that he doesn't like fish or seafood anything-real or flavored and prefers cheese burgers, Cheetos, fried chicken, Arby's roast beef and basically any other unhealthy fast food/convenience type food that comes into our house. He will sit and paw at your or put his paws on the table to get your attention in hopes you will share the junk (he's a very tall cat and easily reaches several inches onto the table top when standing on the floor).

The same cat feels like he must sneak into bed with us, only climbing onto the bed when we are asleep and leaving before we wake up in the morning.

Heh, intently watching the garbage truck right now. And still looking for the puppy next door.

I want to leash train her. We're moving soon, so it would be good if it worked for the trip.

My cat passed away last year but she would only drink out of faucets or the toilet, setting out a bowl of water was useless. She would also steal scrambled eggs, shrimp, and any lunch meat you had off your plate, didn't matter if you were eating it or not. She would play ding dong ditch! She'd paw at the door and then run off as soon as you opened it lol.

My cat loves sliced zucchini, avocado and tomato salads. I chop them up, but them in her dish, and she scarfs them down like it was chicken. If I start slicing into one of those three veggies, she comes running into the kitchen and meows until I give her some.

We have 4 kitties, all of them have their crazy habits.
The oldest (female) will sit in the bathtub and wait for you turn on the water so she can drink from it. She just started doing this a few months ago, before that she was fine with the kitty fountains.
Oldest male likes to have his back rubbed while he eats and only eats dry food that's outside the bowl. He'll take his paw and drag a few pieces out onto the mat, eat those, then drag a few more pieces out. He hates all treats and other cat food we've tried to give him. He'll only eat his food, tortilla chips, french fries and tuna water.
Middle male is another faucet drinker, no standing water for him. He also always has to straddle your arm when he lays next to you. He lays on the couch with his back against your leg, puts his back leg up and gets your arm between his legs so your arm runs down his belly and your hand is rubbing his face. Then he falls asleep so you're trapped.
Youngest male is only 4 months so we're still learning his quirks. We're harness training him so we take him out every weekend in the car with his harness on and drive through Starbucks. Hopefully vet trips will be less of a stress-fest with him since he's used to the car.

We are "baby-sitting" 2 cats right now. So far it has been almost a year. (yes I am aware we have 2 cats now. LOL) One of the kitties likes to play tag. She will chase my middle son around and whack him. My son will chase her back and they continue. The other kitty likes to "hunt". There is a mitten both constantly catch and bring to us for treats.

Quirky cat owner here! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Like others, our cat will only drink out of slow drip faucet or toilet.

He is fixed, but has a “girlfriend” in a hot pink fleece blanket previously owned by my DD. (She gave it to him after he had his way with it.)

He bites our bedroom lampshades. Very annoying.

He chewed through the string of lights on our prelit Christmas tree 🎄 last year. I think he got a shock because he didn’t go back in the tree after that. Thankfully, my husband spliced the wire and lights were saved!

My cat is obsessed with my makeup sponges. Even if I put them in my drawer in the bathroom, she will open that drawer to get them out. She will carry them around like a mouse and howl before she finally drops them. She also like to drink out of the toilet and lay in the bathroom sink

One of mine will bite off small pieces of paper, any paper that it sees like the mail, and litters the house with them. Reminds me of what some birds do. She also runs to greet my hubby when he gets home so she can "sharpen" her claws on his shoe.

Our girl Strawberry is a high maintenance princess, lol!

She begins every morning with a squirt from the Reddi Whip can.
She must have cold water from the bathroom faucet.
The litter must be taken care of daily, no exceptions...she's a super clean gal.
We must open the patio door in the afternoon so she can sunbathe by the screen door and watch birds, bugs, etc.
Tuna or soft cat food must be offered often, as she's not content with boring dry food.
Our black desk chair is Strawberry's throne! She keeps a close eye on the dogs and surveys her kingdom!
And she has a very demanding "meow", that doesn't quit until you figure out what the princess desires.

It can be a full time job serving our princess, but we love her!!

We have four cats and lost a sweet kitty in April.

Luna (oldest) - will only drink from the water bowl by dipping her paw in it and licking the water off.

Bellatrix (RIP sweet girl) - loved chicken and would make a racket if we made it for supper until she got some.

Remus Severus - he’s just a big weenie and doesn’t do much of anything g except he scared of everything.

Rowena - has to be in the open bathroom window while I shower. But only while I shower, not my husband.

Narcissa - newest kitten. She’s just nuts because she’s so young. We haven’t noticed any quirks yet.

I love cats!!!!

We had a Tonkinese some years ago. He was a lover, and his best trick was jumping up onto your shoulder when you got home. Had to make sure at least one hand was free to catch him.

All these toilet-obsessed cats are making me glad mine don't mess with those!

This:

reminded me of another one, though - my little grey kitty likes to steal hair ties!

My female cat will steal hair ties and run around meowing. She only meows when she has one. We always know because she’s so LOUD.

She also likes to be pet very firmly. Like she falls off of things rubbing so hard on you.

I had a cat once that sucked on our earlobes!

I have had umpteen cats in my life and have never seen another cat do this.

We always assumed she was weaned too young and that was the nippliest thing she could find!
