My FIL is a new DVC owner (poly!!) and this will be our first trip with Dvc. previously we had booked through WDW the whole package (rooms, tickets, dining plan, memory maker) and i did all the reservations and planning. Now this time of course rooms are booked through DVC, we got the park tickets and memory maker as a gift card through a promotion Disney was having last winter for canadian residents, and he booked dining pan through DVC.

Now maybe I am just behind, having been out of the "game" for the last 2 years but i can't seem to hook up my park tickets and memory maker to MDE. And i don't see dining plan on MDE. Could it be that having DVC or ordering the park tickets set my FIL up with his own MDE. I've always made the arrangements before and I'm not sure FIL would know what I'm talking about if I asked him about it. (for heavens sake, up until a month ago he thought he HAD booked dining plan already! I had to ask him about it because I was getting antsy to book ADRs but couldn't until I knew what dining plan he wanted to go with)

So my auxiliary question is are there quirks to booking things as a dvc owner(ish) that I should know about? Do you have any advice for me. (should have sat in on the dvc presentation, but 1.i didn't think I'd need to know and 2. I don't know if they would have told me the quirks)

Thanks in advance!!

Is the DVC stay booked with your name on the reservation? If not then that needs to be corrected first.
Have you added the DVC reservation to your MDE account? If not then that is the 2nd step. DVC reservations do not auto-populate within MDE.
Have the tickets been attached to your MDE account?
Is your FIL's MDE account been connected to yours?
Has he added the DP plan to his account?

DVC's Member Services can straighten all this out and give you an idea of how to do it going forward. I would suggest doing a conference call with your FIL and Member Services.

yes our Poly reservation is in our name and and connected to our MDE. Its everything else that I'm having troubles with :/
previously he didn't have his own MDE. I had him named as a guest under my MDE I would be handling reservations for.

That's a good idea. If I can ever pin him down, I'll try that. He's been on constant business travel/meetings for about 2 months and isn't home long enough to get his focus.:teleport: he seems to think theses plans just magically happen pixiedust:

What errors do you get when you try to link the tickets?

It says that it is already connected to an account, but its not on mine and I don't think my FIL has set up a MDE account. AND i wondered if it was different because the park tickets were a special promo where they sent you a non-expiring park pass as a card in the mail rather than just being part of a package. (that part is new to me) My husband thought that it wouldn't show until we redeemed at guest services but i"d still need to link it to MDE to book fast passes, right?

If he has any log in the Disney/ABC family (including fantasy football) using the same email as his DVC email address he will have to set up an MDE account.

I would call and speak to one of the MDE "Specialists". We had a similar issue where our entire family of 8 was duplicated and they managed to get it all figured out. It took a while to flush all of the duplicates and things were a bit funky with my wife's on-property, but it all worked out.

thanks, I think I will have to do that. As a canadian I was hoping to get in with the Help Chat since theres no 800 number but apparently the help chat is always busy, all the time. ;/
