I'm making a quilt for the newest addition to our family. DD2 is due in about 6 weeks so I need to get a move on! I have 5 strips that I'll be hand quilting and want the quilting part to be princess storylines. So the 1st thing in the strip for Belle would be a book, then the rose, maybe Chip, mirror, ending with a crown/tiara. As much as I'd love to quilt the Beast or something I need simple things to quilt so I don't spend 6 hours on one thing or it ends up not being recognizable.
So the help I need is coming up with the 5 princesses and 4 to 7 iconic things to quilt that helps tell their story.
DD1's favorite princesses are Tiana, Belle, Rapunzel and Cinderella so I'm thinking those will probably be 4 of the 5 that I need.
So far I have:
Belle
Book
Rose
Mirror
Chip
Yellow dress
Tiana
Spoon and gumbo pot
Star
Ukulele
Frog
Tiara
Cinderella
Broom or bird
Pumpkin
Mouse
Wand
Glass slipper
Rapunzel
Frying pan
Paint brush
Star (w/lantern)
Tiara
Ariel
Fork
Conch shell
Snow White
Apple
Pick axe
So I still need one more thing for Rapunzel, to decide between Ariel and Snow White and more things for whichever one I do. Any suggestions would be great!
She's due in 5 or 6 weeks and I have my maternity photo shoot this Saturday so I really need to get this thing started! I'm hoping to include me working on the quilt in the photo shoot.
