My DH is a light sleeper. I've heard it is noisy in the lobby area. I would like to request a certain area or room that is as quiet as possible. Can someone give me advice? It will be just the two of us and we will have a standard room, non-smoking.

I am not really sure about quiet rooms but I always bring ear plugs. You can but them pretty much at any drug store or Wal-Mart. The last time we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge the hallway were really noisy but I didn't hear a thing!!! We are going in a few weeks and I have ear plugs ready to go!!!!:D

I would imagine if you state that you would be happy anywhere BUT over the Whispering Canyon you should be fine. The end rooms down towards the lake should also be quite remote and close to the dock as well. We love the Lodge. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do.

Ours was very quiet and we were just around the corner from the hallway that runs along the lobby. I would just ask at check in to be put in a room as far from the lobby as possible. I believe you can fax the hotel a request also. The fax number should be easy enough to find on this website.

Surprisingly, even on 4th floor directly over Whispering Canyon, I found it to be quiet. Except for the 5 o'clock dinner bell, and "COME AND GET IT!!!!!!!!"yell, I found the room to be quiet. If it would have been noisy, I definitely would have changed rooms. North wing standard rooms, however, I understand look out over a service area, and often have "beeping" sounds from trucks. I'd stay away from those rooms.
